Pekařová, Monika ; Hassmannová, Kristina (advisor) ; Hamouzová, Dita (referee)
Thesis title: Case Study of physiotherapy care for a patient diagnosed with peripheral facial palsy Author: Monika Pekařová Advisor: Mgr. Kristina Hassmannová Aim of the thesis: This bachelor thesis contains a summary of expert knowledge about peripheral nerve palsy and a case study of a patient with this diagnosis. Theoretical part covers anatomical and neurophysiological context, etiology, epidemiology and treatment options. The practical part has been carried out during internship at the Kladno Regional hospital from 26. 1. 2021 until 23. 2. 2021. It consists of an entry clinical examination, short-term and long-term therapeutical plan and daily therapy record. The therapy was concluded by a final kinesiological examination and an evaluation of therapy effect. The ten therapeutical sessions contributed to facial muscles strengthening by 3-4 grades, reduction of swelling and elimination of pathological symptoms. I do believe that the prognosis of the patient for a full recovery is optimistic. Keywords: facial nerve, peripheral palsy, facial palsy, physiotherapy, Bell's palsy

Case Study on Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with an upper type brachial plexus palsy
Škripková, Aneta ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (advisor) ; Hamouzová, Dita (referee)
Title: Case Study on Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with an upper type brachial plexus palsy Objectives: The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to summarise the theoretical knowledge about the lesion of the peripheral nervous system, specifically brachial plexus palsies. Other two core objectives are to become oriented in the specialised literature about the given subject and the elaboration of a case study on the physiotherapy treatment of a patient with the above-mentioned diagnosis. Methods: The bachelor thesis is divided into two main parts: theoretical and special. The theoretical part is dedicated to summarising data about the stated problematics obtained from specialised literature available. The findings inform about the basics of the nervous system, with more emphasis on the peripheral nervous system and its possible damage, about brachial plexus palsy, and the options for treatment of this diagnosis. The special, or practical, part contains a detailed case study on the physiotherapy treatment of a patient with an upper type brachial plexus palsy, conducted in a continuous specialised practice. The case study includes the pre- and post-therapy kinesiological assessments, a description of all therapeutic sessions performed and, in conclusion, an evaluation of the effects of the...
Case Study of the Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient after polytrauma with peripheral palsy of ulnar nerve
Bryanová, Karolina ; Kučerová, Ilona (advisor) ; Hankovcová, Eva (referee)
Title: Case study of the physiotherapy treatment of a patient after polytrauma with peripheral palsy of ulnar nerve Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to summarize theoretical knowledge of peripheral palsy, especially the ulnar nerve palsy. Next objective is to elaborate a detailed case study with the use of theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired during the three years of studying the bachelor's programme, in the context of therapeutic sessions with a patient after a polytrauma who was diagnosed with ulnar nerve palsy. Methods: The thesis consists of two main parts. The theoretical part presents an analysis of data obtained from researching available literature and aims to summarize basic information on the subject. The empirical part documents the course of the therapeutic sessions and summarizes the results of the therapy within a consistent and specialized practice. A part of the case study is initial and final kinesiological assessment, a description of the course of all performed sessions and finally an evaluation of the effect of the therapy. Results: An experimental kinesiological assessment was conducted after seven sessions, and the results shown the accomplishment of the majority of the set objectives in a short-term therapy with a patient who was diagnosed with...
Cacuistry of pahysiotherapy care for a patient diagnosed with peripheral facial palsy
Berežná, Jana ; Kučerová, Ilona (advisor) ; Hrdličková, Svatava (referee)
Thesis title: Casuistry of physiotherapy care for a patient diagnosed with peripheral facial palsy Aim of the thesis: The aim of the thesis is to present theoretical information about the peripheral facial nerve palsy diagnosis. Further, the practical part of the thesis describes the use of chosen physiotherapeutic ways of the diagnosis treatment. Methods used: The theoretical part of the thesis presents anatomical context, clinical symptoms, ways of examination, treatment possibilities, including physiotherapy, and information about parotidectomy which may cause the peripheral nervus facialis palsy. The practical part of the thesis describes in detail the casuistry of the patient diagnosed with the peripheral nervus facialis palsy after operation of glandula parotis. Specifically, entrance clinical examination, short-term and long-term plan are made out, followed by records of nine therapy sessions and final output kinesiological analysis. Keywords: peripheral palsy, nervus facialis, adenom glandula parotis, Kenny Method, electrostimulation, kinesiotaping, mimic muscles
