Fuel additives for modern internal combustion engines
Mach, Petr ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is devoted to thorough research of fuel additives, especially their effect on deposits in internal combustion engines, wear and service life of the engines and their effect on fuel consumption. The first chapter briefly informs about automotive fuels and explains the used terms in this work. The next chapter describes the types of fuel additives and their use. The third chapter deals with the deposits in the internal combustion engines and their reduction using detergent additives. The fourth chapter focuses on the types of wear and places where arise. This chapter also aims to prove the positive effect of additives on the engine components service life. The last chapter focuses on the fuel consumption and importance of additives in world fuel consumption.
Analysis of flue gas in automatic domestic boilers for agropelet
Minář, Marek ; Lisý, Martin (referee) ; Jecha, David (advisor)
The objective of the presented bachelor thesis is flue gas analysis during combustion of agropellets in automatic household boilers. Emphasis is placed on the description of biomass as a fuel, the ways of using biomass for energy purposes, alterations of biomass, production and properties of alternative pellets, automatic boilers and burners for combustion of specific fuel types. The end of the theoretical part is focused on standards and regulations for boiler operation. The practical part verifies the formation of emission on small sources of pollution and determines the concentration of solid and gaseous pollutants. The end of the practical part pursues with comparison of results with legislative requirements and calculation of boiler efficiency.
Fuel and energy consumption in households
Český statistický úřad
Together with the development of the company there is a constant development not only of the total energy consumption of households, but also its structure. To change behavior, households are motivated by a number of factors, mainly related to the availability of energy sources, development and access to new technologies and the development of living and income levels.

Optimation and Innovation of Family Houses Heating
Dubnický, Ladislav ; Špiláček, Michal (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to make a summary of knowledge of today´s modern heating systems for family houses. Each types of systems are compared to each other from economic, operating and ecologic point of view. At the end of the thesis there is a model conversion of energetic costs for specific family house and projection of new heating system.
Optimalizace parametrů vozidlového motoru
Žák, Marek
The thesis deals with internal combustion engines (ICE) that are able to burn more types of fuels. The issue is being presented not only from the technical and functional solution point of view, but also with regard to its legislative, economical, ecological and safety demands. Ethanol detection methods in ethanol-gasoline blend, their advantages and disadvantages concerning the above mentioned viewpoints are being presented in this thesis. Furthermore, a new method of ethanol in fuel mixture detection, which has not been known to us before, is being introduced. This method is based on fuel mixture refraction index measurement and is described in detail in this thesis. The method was verified by experiments carried out on commercially available fuel blends in the Czech market. The experimental part of this thesis also includes the design of ICE driving algorithms using this fuel detection method. Correctness of the designed algorithms has been verified by measuring on the engine dynamometer. The results of the thesis show that the designed flex-fuel system solution works well and is even more reliable than contemporary systems usually used.
Analýza změn výstupních parametrů motorů při spalování paliva E85
Polcar, Adam
This Ph.D. thesis titled "Analysis of changes of engines output parameters at combustion of E85 fuel" describes the history and present use of bioethanol as a fuel for spark-ignition engines, as well as possibilities of its production and use in internal combustion engines. The comparison of the physico-chemical properties of the bioethanol and gasoline is also the part of the thesis. The experimental part is focused on the evaluation of engines basic parameters and emissions production. Engine and two vehicles were chosen to analyze the influence of E85 to change parameters mentioned above. Engines were originally designed to operate on gasoline. Hence, one of objectives of this thesis is to describe adjustment of the engine (originally designed for the combustion of gasoline) for operation on E85. The results of experimental measurements show that E85 fuel has a positive impact not only on the performance parameters of the engine, but also on the production of emissions. However, due to different properties of ethanol and gasoline is necessary increase amount of injected fuel. It leads to a negative impact on the fuel consumption of the engine.
Vehicles with CNG drive units
Otipka, Václav ; Svída, David (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis is devoted to vehicles with CNG drive units. The introductory part focuses on the analysis of fuels that are used for propulsion of piston combustion engines. Not only the very expanded fuels but also unique fuels are analysed. The main part of the thesis describes the construction of mass-produced vehicles powered by natural gas. There are analysed the individual function elements of the vehicle which are different from common vehicles on conventional fuels. Part of the thesis is about CNG vehicle operation including ecological and safety impacts. The whole thesis concludes the current offer of cars on the domestic market.
Analysis of ash from fireplace
Drápela, Jakub ; Špiláček, Michal (referee) ; Hrnčířová, Michaela (advisor)
This bachelor thesis should familiarize readers with the size of analysis of ashes of fireplace inset. The work is posssible to divide into two parts, when the first one is devoted to a description of fireplace insets, fuels and subsequent processes during burning in fireplace insets and to individual methods used for size analysis of particles. The other part is focused on practical measurements of individual samples of ashes and subsequent evaluation.
