Studium vlastností neutrin pomocí NOvA detektoru
Jelínková, Zuzana ; Soustružník, Karel (advisor) ; Zálešák, Jaroslav (referee)
The NOνA experiment is a long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiment designed to measure electron neutrinos (νe) appearing in the NuMI beam, a muon neutrino (νµ) source at Fermilab. Its two detectors, Near and Far, are functionally identical active tracking calorimeters. This thesis is focused on the relative calibration of the Near Detector. The individual steps of the process, threshold, shadowing and attenuation calibration, are described. For the calibration, NOνA standardly uses cosmic muons. Alternative source, so called rock muons which are muons that originated from interactions of beam νµs with a rock surrounding the Near Detector, is introduced. The thesis guides through the development of selection criteria used to distinguish rock muon tracks from the data. Selected sample of rock muon tracks is used for the relative calibration and at each step the results are compared to the cosmic muons based calibration. The whole analysis is performed using simulated Monte Carlo data. 1
Studium parametrů oscilací neutrin v experimentu NOvA
Nosek, Tomáš ; Soustružník, Karel (advisor) ; Leitner, Rupert (referee)
This thesis aims at the neutrino oscillations phenomena and the role of longbaseline neutrino oscillation experiments and NOνA in particular in oscillation parameters search. The standard formalism of 3 neutrinos model is described, NOνA experiment and its main features and physics goals (mixing angles θ13 and θ23, CP violation, the value of the CP phase δ and mass hierarchy determination) are introduced. The effects of media to neutrino propagation are explained and effective matter oscillation parameters are derived. The way to resolve the mass hierarchy exploiting matter effects in long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments is depicted and consequent problems regarding the recent knowledge of oscillation parameters, i.e. δ-, θ13- and θ23-degeneracies, are discussed. In the last part GLoBES software is used to simulate NOνA results and to compute the estimated sensitivities to the mass hierarchy in case of 3 years ν run and 1.5ν+1.5ν years run in order to show the advantage of an earlier switch to antineutrino mode in mass hierarchy determination.
Modulated ultrasonic water jet cutting – optimization of the liquid wave guide shape
Veselý, Radek ; Foldyna, Josef (referee) ; Habán, Vladimír (advisor)
High speed water jets have un-substitutable place in unconventional technologies in the machining of materials. Indeed its larger spreading is limited above all by its really high purchase price and also high costs of the operation. Certain possibility is represented by high-speed pulsating jets, which don’t put such a high pretension on arrangement of generating the pressure during the comparable operation. Probably the most effective method of the generating of pulsating water jets is ultrasonic modulation. This work could benefit to understanding spreading of pressure impulses between ultrasonic generator and output nozzle. Pulsating is solved by the numerical calculation using transfer matrix method.
Rheology of hyaluronane solutions

In the article a general theory of a wave propagation in a turbulent media is reviewed.
Periodic solutions of damped oscillations
HOLUB, Miroslav
The main topic of the Thesis is qualitative analysis of linear differential equations of second order. The Thesis is divided into five parts. At the first part there are explained basic type of oscillators (mathematical pendulum and spring). The second part is devoted to definitions and theorems, which are necessary in the study of differential equations. The third part shows the model of linear differential equation of second order. The solution of this equation depending on various parameters is indicated in the fourth part. Some open questions are formulated in the last part.
Physical practicum - electronic support of education
GRILL, František
This thesis is concerned with promoting physical education practicum course. The first section describes the basic knowledge, skills and detailed instructions for creating and processing of measurement reports. The second part is divided into the different roles of physics - Mechanics and thermodynamics, Electricity and magnetism, Oscillations, waves and optics, Electronics, Atomic physics and Special measurements. The third section provides a brief description of the created web sites, their organization and content.
Waves and Oscillations in Solar Coronal Loops
BEDNÁŘ, Vít
Basic Sun characteristic, solar corona mainly. Introducing spacecrafts SoHO and TRACE as fundamental instruments of observing solar corona activities and close description this activities in therms of MHD theory. Recherche reflects the current trends in the observational study of coronal waves and oscillations (standing kink, sausage and longitudinal modes, propagating slow waves and fast wave trains, the search for torsion waves), theoretical modeling of interaction of MHD waves with plasma structures, and implementation of the theoretical results for the mode identification. Also the use of MHD waves for remote diagnostics of coronal plasma - MHD coronal seismology - is discussed and the applicability of this method for the estimation of coronal magnetic field, transport coefficients, fine structuring and heating function is demonstrated.
