RADOSTOVÁ, Iva
The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical part. In the theoretical part are mapped requirements that are imposed on workers in the social sphere, legislation that governs these requirements, training opportunities and motivation for further education and professional growth. The empirical part contains the results of a survey that focuses on access to social workers in the Jindřichův Hradec to acquire new knowledge and awareness. Further searches for their views on opportunities for further education, its adequacy and interest. Another aim was to motivate these workers to lifelong learning, whether their employers are interested in improving skills and training to create the right conditions.
Lifelong midwives of education.
BOUDOVÁ, Monika
The theme of this thesis is ?Lifelong Midwifery Education?. The midwife´s competence is a subject to a three-year Bachelor's study and then repeated award of the Certificate of Eligibility to work without professional supervision. This is conditional on not only obtaining a Bachelor's degree, but also implementing the program of lifelong education. These conditions have not always been as such. In ancient times there was not any emphasis on midwives´ education, over time the knowledge and experience became more of an importance. A midwife of today is still forced to complement her skills. Despite of the fact that training courses had already existed, midwives were not obliged to attend them or prove any ongoing collection of new skills. After joining the European Union the education system of non-medical staff underwent changes, and in addition to existing secondary education or higher professional studies the schools proved inadequate and the studies had to be transferred to universities. At the same time the midwives had to prove their ongoing education and studies with their reached credits. The objective of this effort is a high quality nursing care and the care in midwifery. This research aims to map the interest of midwives in Lifelong Education events and detect possible gaps in some parts of the training. This can be used to extend the practice of lifelong studies. The research method used an anonymous questionnaire which was filled in by the Ústí Region midwives. The expectations that the midwives with lower education would not be as much interested in the offer of the education as the ones with higher education were incorrect. According to the questionnaires the topics and events of education are sufficient. Both the groups have proved comparable demand for education and training. The offered themes were, according to the midwives, fully satisfactory. The research has also showed rather poor knowledge of foreign languages. The midwives should be encouraged and motivated to expand not only their professional but also language skills going forward.

FUČÍK, Martin
The topic of this thesis is evaluation of management of local voluntary fire brigade units of category JPO II and JPO III in the district of Jindřichův Hradec and suggestions to its amendment. The contents of the thesis is permanent organizational, technical and professional competence which is the essential prerequisite for their setting to rescue and liquidation jobs at emergency events and in critical situations. The goal of the thesis was to judge the management further to the professional training by description of the way of achieving professional competence and realizing professional preparation of local fire brigade members, and to try to find out possible imperfection or unbalanced state between requirements and factual situations. The technique of questionnaires and auricular discussions were used to explore if professional training is carried out regularly and with proper coverage and quality set for the category of fire brigade units of JPO II and JPO III. Through the achieved results of the research the level of management of local voluntary fire brigade units of the category JPO II and JPO III in the district of Jindřichův Hradec has been ascertained. The results of the questionnaire research have shown that the organizational, technical and professional competence is below standard. This allegation can illustrated by the combination of replies in the questionnaires. The research sample was formed by 16 local units of voluntary firemen with 229 active members. In order to improve the situation some procedures have been suggested to eliminate the imperfection. Primarily it is necessary to focus to thorough following the laws, regulations and rulings which are concered with the given points at issue, including checking of their fulfilment. If it is impossible to achieve improvement of duality of organizational, technical and professional competence then it is advisable to talk about the way how to change the relevant legislation followed by optimization of the required prerequisite for ensuring the units preparedness. The members of the local voluntary fire brigade units are required to achieve too high level of knowledge and preparation in comparision with the time assigned to management at present. The set of organizational, technical and professional training as a whole is not complied by any local voluntary fire brigade unit belonging to category II and III of fire protection unit.
Paramedics' awareness of blood-borne infections
DALIHODOVÁ, Andrea
My bachelor's thesis focuses on identifying paramedics' awareness of blood-borne infections. The issue of infections transmitted by blood is very extensive and complicated. Much emphasis is placed on prevention by health care employees who are threatened by infections of this kind in their day-to-day practice. For the sake of structure, the thesis is divided into two main parts. The theoretical portion presents a comprehensive overview of blood-borne diseases paramedics are exposed to while performing their work. It also explains terms such as paramedic and the importance of first aid service. The practical portion contains the actual survey and the evaluation of results. This section of the thesis uses quantitative research method via questionnaires. Data was obtained through questioning using anonymous questionnaires. The surveyed group included 90 paramedics. The aim of the work was to identify paramedics' awareness of blood-borne infections, find out what kind of personal protective equipment, if any, they use, and whether applicable regulations are being complied with. Based on the results obtained from the survey, I have concluded that paramedics are not sufficiently aware of blood-borne diseases. I also found out that 33% of the respondents violate applicable legislation by improper handling used by paramedics to the fullest possible extent. The most important aspects, I believe, are compliance with sanitary and epidemic regulations, vaccination, the availability of quality protective equipment and training as part of general prevention measures. In my opinion, more attention should be paid to providing health care workers with quality post-graduate education, the prevention of blood-borne infections, compliance with applicable regulations and the use of personal protective equipment.
The support of lifelong learning register of nurses
SMOLOVÁ, Kateřina
This work deals with the issue of registration of non-medical health care workers as the system of documentation of lifelong education. Contemporary world lays increased demands in all disciplines, particularly in health care. In order to ensure provision of high-quality nursing care by competent workers, conditions for authorization to execute health care profession independently without professional supervision had to be set. And those conditions are defined by the registration system specified by law. Our goal was to ascertain the practical nurses{\crq} opinions on registration. To find out what the influence of registration on further nurse education is and to map what prevents nurses from education. To ascertain which forms of lifelong education are preferred by nurses and whether the employer supports nurses in lifelong education and in what manner. We selected quantitative research to process such information. A questionnaire for nurses was drawn up for data collection and 106 respondents reacted to it. The research showed that nurses prefer passive participation in events like seminars and conferences in education. Most nurses think that it is necessary to educate themselves in their discipline. Further we have found out that more than a half of the nurses inquired want to have general knowledge and educate themselves also in other disciplines than their specialization. Most inquired nurses have stated that they educate themselves more frequently than before the introduction of registration. The biggest obstacle for nurses consists in financial and time demandingness of the educational events.
Competencies of Professional Rescuer in Emergency Medical Service Rescue Squads
ŠUSTA, Jan
The topic of my bachelor degree work is ``Competences of a paramedic in an ambulance crew``. One of the objectives of the work was to discover opinions of doctors and paramedics regarding the competences of a paramedic in an ambulance crew. The other objective was to map out the situation in individual stations of emergency services in South Bohemia. In the theoretical portion of the work I focused on various aspects of the medical emergency services such as their origin, characteristics and activities. Further on I described the job of a paramedic as regards the education, activities and legal responsibilities related to this job. In the practical portion of the work I chose the method of quantitative research. To gather data I used a questionnaire and a knowledge test. The inquired group comprised doctors and paramedics working in ambulance stations of the South-Bohemian medical emergency service. With regards to the objective of the work I determined three hypotheses. The first hypothesis assumed that ``Most paramedics consider their competences insufficient because of their education``. The second hypothesis assumed that ``Most doctors consider paramedics´ competences sufficient. `` The third hypothesis said that ``Most paramedics have sufficient professional knowledge about the scope of their competences``. The research confirmed two of the hypotheses. The one mentioned as second was not confirmed. Even though paramedics´ competences have been very topical among specialist in this field lately, no legislative changes that would extend the current competences have been adopted yet.

HALUZOVÁ, Jaroslava
My thesis addresses the issue of lifelong learning of nurses.Lifelong learing promotes high standards of profesional practice. The principles and values of lifelong learning are increasingly important. The objective of the research was to find out how motivated the health care personnel are to improve their skills and knowledge in the interest of their patients. In my research I also obsesrve if nurses have the responsibility to grow professionally and if they have enought access to information about lifelong education programs. For data collection the quantitative research was used. The summary of my research: nurses are concerned about lifelong learning, they are aware of the need to enhance the profesional practice. But they are not informed enough about relevant chances. The mandatory registration has enhanced the involvement in lifelong learning of nurses. But the most important motivating factor is the prospect for promotion and a better salary.
