SCHMIDT, Roman
Causes and displays of criminal activity of Romany children and youth in the district of České Budějovice SUMMARY My Bachelor Thesis deals with upbringing of Romany children and youth from several perspectives that could influence their behaviour in the area of committing crimes. The Thesis analyzes the upbringing of Romany children by their family, peers and class collective. Also the question whether also living in socially excluded localities has impact on such pathological activity is outlined here. I used quantitative research in my Thesis, using methods of secondary data analysis. Subsequently I categorized the research problem. The analyses performed showed that peers, even the non-Romany ones, have strong influence on committing of crimes by Romany children. In several cases they commit crimes with their siblings. It was not exceptional for them to commit crime repeatedly. The research showed that particularly boys commit crime. I used investigation files in my research; such files are documents containing difficultly obtainable information; therefore they can help to get grasp of social problems of Romany population, particularly of children and youth. The obtained information can be used both by social workers and by other components of state administration for their activity at solving Romany issues with focus on upbringing of Romany children and their inclusion into the majority society. Very high significance has also the solution of living in socially excluded localities, having also impact on criminal activity of Romany children and youth. One of the solutions can consist in participation of border towns and villages that should look for premises for reconstruction, helping to integrate the Romany inhabitants into the cultural, working and social process of the majority society.

Changes in following the Romani traditions and customs
KVASNIČKOVÁ, Kateřina
This thesis deals with changes in following traditions and customs in the Romani lives and its aim is to map and describe these changes. In its first, theoretical part there is a description of important times in the history of the Romani living on the Czech land, in which the Romani were, often under the threat of loss of their freedom, and sometimes even life, forced to change their lifestyle and adapt themselves to the majority society. The influence of the society was the reason why the Romani stopped following some of their traditions and customs and did not pass them on to the younger generations of the Romani; that is why, with time, many traditions and customs became forgotten. The second, practical part contains interviews with concrete Romani, their assessment and discussion, in which there is a comparison of the information I got with the data gathered by the authors quoted. After assessment of the interviews it is evident that the older Romani and the Romani born before the 1980 are well aware of their traditions and customs and follow some of the traditions in their families. The younger generation, however, are not interested in the traditional life of their ancestors, they do not follow the traditions and customs by themselves; they have adapted their lifestyles and systems of values to the majority society; they often do not consider themselves to be Romani.
The knowledge of Gypsy culture and traditions in the town Tabor
KOVÁČOVÁ, Silvie
Following from its title, this diploma work discusses Gipsy culture and traditions, especially maps the level of knowledge comparing Gipsy and non-Gipsy inhabitants in the town of Tabor. The choice of the topic proceeds from a widely known fact involving the problematic common life of those too much different groups. Many members of the majority do not have any awareness of Gipsies being a specific group of inhabitants, having their own culture and traditions. On the other hand, the traditional life of the Gipsies has changed at all, rather has declined, especially in the field of language. Both these points of view may play an important role in one another understanding of the Gipsies and the majority. The target of my work was to map the knowledge of the Gipsy culture and traditions by the Gipsy commune and, as well, to map the knowledge of the majority. Within the framework of this, two main hypothesises were determined. The first main hypothesis assumed that the Gipsy commune in Tabor hadn´t known its tradition and culture any more. The second main hypothesis assumed that the majority hadn´t known the Gipsy tradition and culture. These two hypothesises weren´t proved because the decisive part of questioned people( both Gipsy and non-Gipsy) had known at least one element of Gipsy culture and tradition. Another important investigation was made in my work. They are specified in details in the part {\clqq}Discussion`` of my work. In consideration of the fact that nobody has ever occupied with this problem in the area of the town of Tabor, I suppose, that the points of my work may be useful for organizations that provide service for the Gipsy commune in Tabor. To make it possible, I am going to present my work on the web page of the town of Tabor.
