Půdní semenná banka lužních lesů Jižní Moravy
Posslová, Jana
This dissertation thesis is dealing with the soil seed bank structure and composition in the flood forests on South Moravia, forest district Valtice. 97 soil samples was taken in 2011 and species composition was evaluated. Data were evaluated by appropriate statistical methods usány programs R, Turboweg and QGis. It was found that the species richness and the seed density is decreasing with the increasing age of the forest stand. Also the ratio of stress tollerant and ruderal species is changing. The soil seed bank is dominated mostly by Urtica dioica.
Quantitative vessel parameters of broadleaves as a tool for reconstruction of physical geographical processes
Tumajer, Jan
Trees adjust wood anatomical structure to environmental conditions, predisposing time series of quantitative wood anatomical parameters to be valuable source of palaeoenvironmental information. In this doctoral project we analysed the response of vessel parameters of i) floodplain Quercus robur to groundwater level fluctuation, hydroclimate variability and extreme events (droughts and floods), and of ii) Betula pendula to mechanical damage caused by various disturbances. Although climatic signal as well as pointer years stored in tree-ring width chronologies of Quercus robur largely differ between sites, quantitative vessel parameters contain spatially- homogenous positive signal of previous year summer temperature and current year winter/early spring temperature. The only between-site difference in wood anatomical chronologies is negative effect of moisture on vessel size in floodplain, which does not occur in not-flooded lowland sites. We suggest that while tree productivity benefits from high water availability, the wood anatomical structure of Quercus robur is constrained by high soil water saturation in floodplain zone. In addition, the response of tree-ring widths to moisture availability is not uniform inside single stand, but subgroups of trees with completely opposite response coexist...

Obnova vegetace revitalizovaného úseku řeky Stropnice
HEROVÁ, Zdenka
Three seasons of initial succession were followed in the frame of this thesis after a restoration project in a section of the Stropnice River and its floodplain. The succession tends towards formation of community of alluvial meadows, which is prevailing biotope in the neighborhood of the restored part. Strong factor influencing the course of succession is wetness of the substrate, which is partially given by distance of a site from the water-course and by the difference in the altitude of a site and of the river water table. Synantrophic species were most abundant in the first year (2014), followed by meadow and wetland species (2015, 2016).
Floristická a fytocenologická charakteristika lužních lesů v plánované I. zóně BR Dolní Morava jako podklad pro management
Melich, Ján
Thesis presents the results related to the detailed floristic inventorying and phytosociological characterisation. Start of work is dedicated to the literary characteristics of floodplain forests. In the chapter the results are discussed in detail results derived from field research. It is especially characteristic of endangered and invasive species in the segments of the first areas of BR Dolná Morava. The discussions are discussed results related to literary issues. Finally, the proposed management of the resulting achievements. The annexes are photos and maps related to the floristic inventorying.
Floodplain mollusc fauna of the lower Elbe and its tributaries -its history, ecology and changes induced by invasion plant species
Horáčková, Jitka ; Juřičková, Lucie (advisor) ; Pokorný, Petr (referee) ; Čejka, Tomáš (referee)
The molluscs are very suitable model of invertebrate group for ecological and palaeoecological studies for their specific traits. In the first part of the thesis, we showed based on available fossil mollusc successions that development of the floodplain mollusc fauna took place quite different way in various river floodplains, depending on their specifics and geographical location, because especially the ones situated in the chernozem area of the Czech Republic had very different history. Detailed processing of five fossil mollusc successions in the lower Ohře River floodplain confirmed the impoverishment of recent forest malacofauna does not relate to natural processes only (chapters 3 and 10), but it arises from historical development of this area which was under permanent stress of the human settlement and agricultural utilization (chapter 1) since the coming of the Neolithic people. We made similar conclusions in case of another 11 fossil mollusc successions in the neighbouring České Středohoří Mts. (chapter 2). In the second part of the thesis (chapter 3), we investigated the ecological patterns responsible for species richness and composition of the floodplain mollusc fauna are especially the elevation and humidity gradient, and then vegetation type and its biomass, light conditions of the...

Effect of management in alluvial forests of South Moravia: reconstruction of harvest cycles and dendroklimatological analysis of tree growth
JANSKÁ, Eliška
This thesis deals with management history of floodplain forests in south Moravia. Using dendrochronological and dendroclimatological analyses, we revealed past disturbances and inferred former forestry practices, and we demonstrated the effect of climate and decrease of water table on the growth of oak (Quercus robur).
Studie revitalizace vybraného úseku řeky Moravy
Rolný, Roman
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of water flows from the viewpoint of the return to close to natural state. Apart from a general description of the functions of the water flow performed in the landscape, and general information of the topic of revitalization, this thesis is focused on the specific situation. It is a selected section of the Morava River, flowing through protected landscape area Litovelské Pomoraví, where the river is fortified in the heel slope by stone fortifications as backfill. The aim is to describe the current state of the selected section, describe the proposed revitalization measures and assess the need of revitalization of this section of the Morava River.
Vodní prvky říční krajiny
Špaková, Zuzana
The final thesis is about water elements of river landscape. There is a description of morphology and establishment of floodplain, oxbow lakes, periodic pools and the river itself. The target of work was to recognize, analyse and understand to area and design the enhancing solution of a current state from a point view of landscape architect. The terrain research and make photo material was held at first. After studying of literature and on-line sources there was a summary of analysis created and followed the design of solution. The bank vegetation was designed on the Dolni louky for support of animals and vegetation and enhance of landscape character. The design of non-intervention forest area helps the landscape retention and watch the natural processes. Flooded crop fields are designed like a meadow also for better retention of water. The new bike path allows the spread of visitors around the area and enjoy the ride on protection dyke.
