Dopad ekonomickej krízy na dva vybrané štáty strednej Európy: Slovensko a Poľsko

The aim of this thesis is a comparison of impacts of the recent economic crisis demonstrated on three selected indicators in Poland and Slovakia. These indicators are unemployment, consumption and foreign direct investment. Theoretical part is aimed at fiscal policy and its role in the crisis, life cycle hypothesis and hypothesis of permanent income as the theories of households' consumption and savings, and jobless growth. Consequently, the thesis describes the situation before, during and after the crisis, whereby it also verifies predictions of above mentioned theories. In conclusion, it tries to forecast the possible development of selected indicators in these countries into the near future.
Management of Company focused on special Construction works in curent economic situation

The aim of the work is an analysis of recent and present economic situation and also situation in construction in Slovak Republic. It deals with the economy of a particular company, which specialises in the field of construction works, in the context of outside and inside influences. A more detailed examination relies on the results of a financial analysis. The aim of the thesis is to find out what impact these events have on a specific company and to suggest solutions that would contribute to its resilience to its competition or to help overcome the next potential crisis.
Current Problems of the European Monetary Union

The diploma thesis identifies and assesses current problems of the European Monetary Union, based on: firstly, theoretic approach which reviews the position of monetary union within the range of alternative exchange rate regimes, secondly, historic approach which explains evolutionary principle in the process of European monetary integration, and thirdly, economic approach which analyses the viability of the euro area by application of the criteria of the optimum currency area theory. Subsequently, the roots and development of today's euro area crisis are described and also future scenarios of development in Greece and entire euro area are briefly outlined. The analysis shows that the European Monetary Union by far does not meet the optimum currency area criteria and thus the euro area is considerably vulnerable to future asymmetric shocks.
Slovak crown: from beginning to transition on euro

The first chapter devotes to the circumstances of beginning of the independent Slovak currency and its activity in fixed currency rates till the year 1998. The second chapter of this bachelor thesis describes the development of Slovak crown from transition from floating currency rates to entry to the ERM II system. The third chapter focuses on the last years of life of Slovak crown, its activity in ERM II system and describes the preparations on a new currency euro, too. The last fourth chapter points out on advantages, disadvantages, prospects of euro and its influence on Slovak economy in time of crisis.
