Preparation and properties of bulk material from magnesium powder
Ruttkayová, Veronika ; Pacal, Bohumil (referee) ; Doležal, Pavel (advisor)
Diploma thesis focuses on preparation and characterization of bulk material prepared from pure magnesium powder. The topic includes all the parts of process of bulk material preparation, sintering at hot pressing, diffusion processes and structurally-mechanical properties with respect to final material porosity of the produced material. Thesis solving focuses on study and control of processes during bulk material preparation and description of the processes from physically-chemical point of view of the structure creation and final material properties.
Preparation processes and characterization of bulk material from Mg and Zn powders
Hasoňová, Michaela ; Pacal, Bohumil (referee) ; Doležal, Pavel (advisor)
Topic of the diploma thesis is Mg-Zn bulk material preparation process by powder mixtures sintering at hot pressing. Structure, porosity and physically-mechanical properties of prepared bulk materials was evaluated. Obtained results and their interpretation were served as feedback for following optimization of individual processing parameters of bulk materials preparation. Thesis solving focuses on study and control of processes during bulk material preparation and description of the processes from physically-chemical point of view of the structure creation and final material properties.
Ceramo-metallic materials of the Ti-B-C and Ti-B-N systems
Brožek, V. ; Doležal, J. ; Novák, M. ; Ctibor, Pavel ; Kolman, Blahoslav Jan
Products prepared by the sintering of titanium and boron carbide powder and by the sintering of titanium and boron nitride powder were studied. The sintering was performed at 2,000 °C under the pressure of 6 GPa in a high-pressure apparatus of BELT-type with sufficient holding time to reach thermodynamic equilibrium. The results of chemical and phase composition analyses were compared with thermodynamic prediction of possible reactions in the system. We proved the preferential formation of borides TiB and TiB2 prior to the carbides or nitrides formation. The products, which may be considered Ti-(TiB,TiB2)-TiN or Ti-(TiB,TiB2)-TiC cermets, were analysed in order to determine their microstructure, phase and chemical composition and their influence on mechanical properties such as hardness or elastic modulus. This work precedes similar study which will be performed using the same powders processed by plasma spraying, which enables to stabilize high-temperature phases by rapid cooling.
Nanometric boron nitride – a progressive material for high temperature applications
Brožek, Vlastimil ; Mastný, L.
In the paper brief overview of preparation, sintering and application of the hexagonal boron nitride in Czech Rep. since 1979 is provided. This material exhibits a unique combination of electrical insulation with good thermal conductor, also with minimal thermal expansion. In the non-oxidative environment hexagonal boron nitride ceramics is stable up to 2700°C.
Metallic and ceramic filters for high temperature applications
Brožek, Vlastimil ; Neufuss, Karel
Tungsten, tungsten carbide, aluminium oxide, titanium oxide, zirconium silicate and tungsten silicide powders were spheroidized in water stabilized plasma. After shape-classification the microfilters were sintered by HIP and HP methods at 1800-2000°C and 150-270 MPa. The permeability, porozity, corrosive and temperature resistence and mechanical properties were tested.
