Legal basis of the medical review service assessments
ŠIMKOVSKÁ, Irena
The diploma thesis is focused on the legal nature assessments of medical assessment service. The medical assesment service has seen many changes over the course of history, and its competence is constantly changing and evolving. Unfortunately, the nature of the assesment service is sometimes ambiguous for the non-professional public and is thus viewed very skeptically. Nowadays, only a few experts are dedicated to this topic, so I decided to unify the information and summarize the main objectives of the medical assessment service. In order to better understand and illustrate the rights and duties of this service, I also looked into history. Given the nature of the work, I decided to work on theoretical work, which points out not only the historical development in the Czech Republic, but also in Slovak Republic, further it focuses on the current state and definition of terms necessary for understanding the work of the medical assessment service. The objective of the work is to map the system of medical assessment service and work is thus a summary of information not only for the non-professional public, but also for study purposes and awareness of social workers who meet daily with many questions on this topic. The medical assessment service affects many human life stages, so it is not only about assessing health status for pension insurance, but also for health insurance or ensure the social services. Since many authors are not concerned with the topic, it is sometimes quite difficult to find a clear definition of the legal nature of individual assessments. However, the legal nature of the assessments is enshrined in the law, and also affects other life stages of the person that being assessed and claims not only for financial but also for social security, and it is therefore important to deal with this topic and its changes and submit new and comprehensive information.
Forest health assessment in Czech Republic using Sentinel-2 satellite data
Lukeš, Petr ; Strejček, R. ; Křístek, Š. ; Mlčoušek, M.
This methodology aims to design a comprehensive system of nationwide assessment of the state of health of the Czech Republic based on Sentinel-2 satellite data analysis. The methodology addresses the entire process from the pre-processing of source satellite data using a novel approaches based on analysis of all-available satellite observations and their processing in the form of cloud-free mosaics of the Czech Republic using big data approach. In the next step, the products derived from cloud-free mosaics (vegetation indexes and other image analysis) are compared against extensive database of ground survey of forest health status (values of the leaf area index sampled as part of the development of the methodology - further denoted as LAI, database of tree defoliation ICPForests, airborne hyperspectral data acquired for selected study area, global forest losses database). For products with the best relationship to in-situ data, a predictive statistical model to yield LAI from satellite observations is developed. Forest health status is evaluated on the basis of yearly changes of the LAI values for cloud-free mosaics generated in the vegetation maximum. Individual pixels are classified into four health classes according to LAI growth rate or decrease in the observed period. The final assessment of the state of health is applied at the cadastral level, where each cadastral area is classified into four health classes based on the fraction of the lowest health status stands with significant LAI decrease to the total forest cover for stands up to 80 years of age
Relationship between reactivity of immune system and quality of human body odour
Schwambergová, Dagmar ; Havlíček, Jan (advisor) ; Vinkler, Michal (referee)
It was previously proposed that expression of secondary sexual characteristics may provide cues to individual's immunocompetence. Body odour could partly serve as one of such characteristics, which provides crucial information about potentional partner even in humans. The main aim of the diploma thesis was to test a relationship between body odour quality and reactivity of immune system. In empirical part of the study we collected body odour samples from 21 men aged between 18-40 years before and two weeks after the vaccination against hepatitis A and B (Twinrix) and meningococcus (Menveo). The participant's blood samples were obtained three times to determine levels of IgG and IgM antibodies (markers of reactivity of immune system), testosterone, cortisol and CRP levels. In the second part of the study, a panel of 88 female raters aged 18-40 assessed body odour samples for their attractiveness, intensity and healthiness. In contrast to our expectations, we found no significant association between levels of antibodies induced by vaccination and perceived body odour attractiveness and health. Simultaneously, there were no significant changes in body odour ratings, neither in levels of testosterone and cortisol ratings, before and after the vaccination. However, we found a negative association...
Bioarcheologie středověké populace střední Evropy: vztah zdravotního stavu, sociální diferenciace a výživy.
Kaupová, Sylva ; Velemínský, Petr (advisor) ; Smrčka, Václav (referee) ; Polet, Caroline (referee)
We studied the dietary behavior and health status of a population that lived in the context of rapid change, including the development of the economic and political structures of states, the adoption of Christianity as well as the subsequent disruption of social structure and the recovery of society. Carbon (δ13 C) and nitrogen (δ15 N) isotopic values were measured in a sample of 189 adult individuals of both sexes and 74 animals representing different socio-economic contexts (power centers versus the hinterlands) and chronology: the Great Moravian (9th -10th century AD) versus late Hillfort (11th century AD) period. A sample of 41 sub-adults aged 0-6 years, representative of both Great Moravian power centers (Mikulčice) and its rural hinterlands (Josefov), was selected for isotopic analyses of breastfeeding and weaning behavior. Data on growth and frequency of nonspecific stress indicators (cribra orbitalia, porotic hyperostosis, and endocranial lesions) were analyzed in a sub-adult group. In adults, we focused on dental health (caries, periapical lesions, dental wear, and periodontal disease), the presence of cribra orbitalia and estimated adult stature. Isotopic data of the adult sample showed that the Great Moravian population had a terrestrial diet with a substantial proportion of C4 plants....
Health and Social Situation of People Living in the Excluded Location "Stalingrad"
ONDRÁŠEK, Stanislav
The thesis titled "Health and social situation of people living in the excluded locality "Stalingrad", arose because nowadays they are socially excluded localities increasingly viewfinder researchers, scholars and not least the media. Residents of socially excluded localities get from their neighbors in most cases verbal abuse and an overall disinterest. Locations also receive various nicknames, such as "house of horror" or "gypsy ghetto". The theoretical part of the thesis describes and explains the basic concepts and phenomena that are the subject of the thesis. Such concepts and phenomena are eg. social exclusion and its effects on the lives of individuals affected, or causes of socially excluded localities and what people are at risk of social exclusion. Furthermore, the theoretical part describes the health situation of people living in socially excluded locality in general. There are presented the basic concepts that bind to a medical situation such as quality of life and determinants that affect health and condition. In the last part of the theoretical background is given governs employment and economic situation of the socially excluded locality, focusing on unemployment, work accidents and the impact of unemployment on health. The main aim of this thesis was to describe what health and social situation of people living in the excluded locality "Stalingrad" and the sub-objective was to determine what relationships are residents of the excluded localities "Stalingrad" with their neighbors who live near the site. Have been established two research questions were: VO1: What is the history of people living in the excluded locality "Stalingrad" in the health and social context? VO2: There is a relationship between social and health situation of people living in the Czech excluded locality "Stalingrad"? In the research part of the work is characterized by the research group, which consisted of two informants from socially excluded locality "Stalingrad" and three neighbors who live near that site. For data acquisition, qualitative and strategy to be exact, narrative interviews. Before beginning the interview informants were familiar to the interview and its course, and were satisfied that the talks are completely anonymous and will be used only for the purposes of this thesis. It was determined topic of conversation for people living in excluded locality "Stalingrad" I set the question "Tell me about your life in "Stalingrad" from the time you've moved up until now.". For people living close to the site was established topic question "Tell me about your relationship with the neighbors of "Stalingrad". Interviews were transcribed verbatim and then analyzed using open coding and axial coding. In the discussion of the information obtained is compared with the available literature and research. The results are that the health situation of these people of "Stalingrad" is hampered mainly because of the physically demanding work (work in the forest, in a construction company, car service). Health situation of the signed occupational injuries suffered by the informant and his friend. These injuries are undoubtedly permanently signed on the quality of life of these people. A potential threat to the health status of the moisture that gets into the homes destroyed because of the structure of the garage. The social situation is such that informant have due to high spending three jobs that have yet demanding working hours. Social situation affects the fact that residents of "Stalingrad" must commute to work, and that it must invest a larger sum of money to refurbishment of dwellings. In the past, there were some conflicts and problems with the adoption of the residents of "Stalingrad" in the village community. In the conclusion of thesis is mentioned possible use of this work. The work may be assisted by social workers or Roma coordinators in solving health and social situation of people living in the surveyed area.
Guideline for leaf area index estimation in non-mixed forest tree stands
Pokorný, Radek
This guideline introduces theory and methodological approaches for LAI estimation in forest stands, especially those which are user-friendly in the field as well as sufficiently accurate. These approaches include indirect methods, which use instruments with optical sensors. This guideline fills the gaps in the information given in the instruction manuals to these instruments. It gives a detailed description of how to assess whether the current conditions for LAI measurement are suitable, how to establish a grid of measurement points in a stand and what corrections to apply, etc. in order to obtain the desired value of LAI effectively and accurately.

Effect of milk composition and a dietary crude protein source on an increasing of resistance of growing-fattening rabbits to digestive disorders
PŘÍDOVÁ, Lenka
Recent findings showed that white lupine is a suitable alternative source of crude protein for feed mixtures of broiler rabbits. It was found that white lupine can completely replace the hitherto commonly used soybean meal , which in higher concentrations assigns a negative impact on the health of the gastrointestinal tract. For fattening rabbits are therefore all white lupine seeds suitable source of nitrogen compounds . White lupine seeds are also an important source of fat with a favorable profile and fatty acid composition . In further experiments it was found that the addition of white lupine into lactation diet rabbits significantly increased daily milk production and milk fat , which significantly reduces the amount of saturates and significantly increases the percentages of oleic acid , linolenic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Such milk nutrition rabbits, along with the use fattening mixtures from 17 days of age also contains white lupine , significantly reduce the health risk index rabbits in the first weeks after weaning. It is however clear whether the favorable health condition of weaned rabbits was due to higher acid content of EPA in milk, which are attributed to the organism significant physiological and immune function, or has a better state of health due to the fact that the rabbits received fattening diet containing white lupine , compared with rabbits receiving the diet with soy extracted scrap. Compared to soy white lupine also has a higher content of oligosaccharides rafinosové series , which is attributed to the prebiotic effect . The addition of white lupine in fattening mixtures may favorably affect the fermentation microflora activity appendicitis rabbits , thereby increasing the resistance of weaned rabbits digestive disorders . From the foregoing it is clear that there are many unclear issues that need to explain the experimentally .
