Computational System for Selection of Optimal Utilization of Energy from Combustion Processes
Touš, Michal ; Klemeš,, Jiří (referee) ; Odstrčil, Miloslav (referee) ; Bébar, Ladislav (advisor)
PhD thesis deals with application of simulation and optimization methods in the field of waste and biomass utilization for energy purposes. Current situation in this field is described in the introductory. Following chapters deal with approaches of creating mathematical models of apparatus and processes used in the field of interest for simulation and optimization purposes. Stochastic methods, which are widely applied for real problems solution, are mentioned as well. The core of the thesis consists in proposal of systematic approach and its application for simulation and optimization model building used in the field of interest. The application is demonstrated through two case studies. The first one deals with the building of simulation model of an existing waste-to-energy plant using its operation data. The second study deals with optimization model building and its application for a problem regarding utilization of biomass in an existing energy system.
Energy utilization of biomass through wet fermentation
Odehnal, Lukáš ; Linda, Jakub (referee) ; Kalivodová, Markéta (advisor)
The final thesis focuses on the energy utilization of biomass and the description and calculation of the energy balance of a specific biogas plant, Valeč near Hrotovice. The text is divided into five blocks, in the first block the sources of biomass and its subsequent energy use are discussed. The second part covers processes and technologies using wet fermentation. The third chapter describes a specific biogas plant. The fourth part calculates the balance of electricity and heat production, and the last chapter of the thesis summarizes the calculated values and compares the technology used with other possible sources.
Využití energie biomasy
Holík, Pavel
This bachelor thesis was written as part of the Bachelor studies at the Faculty of AgriSciences Mendel University in Brno. It deals with the literary solution of the use of energy from biomass. This thesis provides the fundamental summary of energy crops used for energetic processing in the Czech Republic. The selected kinds of biomass are described in detail from their source to the energy production. The technologies of the thermochemical transformations of biomass for energetic purposes and their impact on the environment are closely explained, too. Furthermore, the basic alternatives for home heating and their operational conditions in the future years are described in this Bachelor thesis.
Hodnocení provozu kotle na biomasu
Holík, Pavel
This diploma thesis was written as a part of the master study program at the Faculty of AgriSciences of the Mendel University in Brno. Its main topic is a literary solution and experimental measuring of biomass boiler operations. This thesis provides a basic overview of energy crops for energy use in the Czech Republic. Different technologies of thermo-mechanical transformations of biomass for energy are described in detail. The last part of the thesis focuses on pollutants from biomass burning that were measured in an experimental test.
Kvantifikace potenciálů produkce a nákladů na realizaci biomasy pro nepotravinářské aplikace
Filipová, Jana
The Bachelor thesis is focused on economical evalution of biomass sources used for other than food industrial usage. It also explains why the non-food-instrial aplications are being used nowadays. The thesis is focused mainly on thermochemical transformations including descriptions of crops which are perceive heat or electricity and then these processes are economically valued. The liquid and gas biofuels are also described in one seperate chapter. At the conclusion the SWOT analysis of a specific agricultural company harvesting and delivering crops for energetic purposes is created.
Replacing heat from fossil fuels by energy from waste
Ženatý, Sebastian ; Smejkalová, Veronika (referee) ; Putna, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deal with the topic of waste treatment and possibility of its energy utilization. Methods of waste treatment are presented in the introduction research part. It is mainly focused on the environmental impact. Subsequently it is concentrated on energy recovery facility, the environmental aspect of which is again the main focus. The practical part starts with a description of a tool suitable for modeling of heating and power plants networks. This tool is used for the calculation of specified heating network in the second practical section. Finally, the results are evaluated and the alternatives of the plant operation are proposed.
Balance of energy recovery waste
Rovný, Jan ; Špiláček, Michal (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
The way waste is handled is a topical and sensitive issue on a long-term basis, especially in connection with the energy use of (mixed) municipal waste. Despite the very variable composition and properties, municipal waste is after homogenization a potentially energy efficient fuel that saves primary energy sources and thanks to efficient flue gas cleaning systems is environmentally friendly. There is still a large amount of municipal waste in the Czech Republic, but there are more efficient ways of processing – recycling, composting and energy utilization. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the properties of municipal waste as a raw material, to compare the methodology of statistical measurement from various sources and then to objectify the balance of waste in the Czech Republic. The last aim is the search of waste energy recovery facilities in the Czech Republic and describe balance of energy-using waste in these facilities.
Energetické využití kukuřice na americkém trhu
Zachová, Pavlína
This bachelor thesis deals with issue of energy use of corn in US market. Specially, development of corn position on market and intensity of its energy use. Theoretical part of thesis deals with explaining basic information from legal, economical and biological aspects, which are closely connected with development of corn commodity chain for energy use. The analytical part of the thesis is focused on a particular view and assess the situation on the US market, in terms of commodity corn itself, but also the product of its processing to energy facilities, thus ethanol.
