Domestic violence from the view of an adolescent
BURIANOVÁ, Jana
Domestic violence from the view of an adolescent I consider the domestic violence to be one of the cruellest abuses of a man to another man, above all for the reason it happens between close people. It is scary, that in the place, where one should feel the most safely, it comes to a violence and harm. The domestic violence occurs everywhere, regardless the social status, education, age, sex etc. This thesis is focused on adolescents, because I am interested in the fact what information and views they have and how much they are interested in the problem of the domestic violence. Then I focused a part of the thesis on an opinion of adolescents on the corporal punishment during the upbringing. The punishments in the upbringing are increasingly becoming a more discussed and hot topic and there are many different opinions on them. The theoretical part was aimed for relevant information related to the domestic violence and the upbringing. A main goal of the thesis was to map an awareness of adolescents on the issue of the domestic violence; a partial goal was to find out their views on the corporal punishments in the upbringing. At the same time the thesis examined two advanced hypotheses. An interrogation method by the help of questionnaires was chosen to verify the hypotheses. They were addressed to adolescents aged from 17 to 20 years old studying the region of the Bohemian Highland. The research sample for the data collecting consisted of 168 respondents in total. The hypothesis No. 1 supposed that girls have a greater knowledge about the issue of the domestic violence than boys. This hypothesis was confirmed. The hypothesis No. 2 supposed that adolescents do not agree with physical punishments in the upbringing. The hypothesis No. 2 was not confirmed. Respondents largely agree with the corporal punishments, if they are reasonable (a slap) or earned. The bachelor thesis offers current data on the domestic violence, awareness and opinions of the adolescents. It points out where it is necessary to increase the awareness of the adolescents on the domestic violence issues. The thesis can be used by a professional and lay public, which is interested in the domestic violence and it can be a basis for further studies or researches in that area.
The Social Environment as a Factor Affecting the Use of Corporal Punishment in the Bringing Up of Preschool Children
KLÍMOVÁ, Alžběta
The Introduction deals with historical circumstances of children{\crq}s position in society. Further, it contains definitions of the terms of education, educational style, educational means and corporal punishment. An integral part of my thesis is also a list and characteristics of factors influencing the choice of educational means. The questions of the consequences of corporal punishment are also paid attention to. The conclusion brings an outline of legislation related to corporal punishment. The primary objective of my thesis is to survey the attitudes of parents to corporal punishment wards in the education of pre-school age children. The next objective is to analyze the obtained data from the point of age, education, family status and income groups. The practical part of the thesis consists of quantitative research conducted by the technique of a standardised questionnaire. Drawing on the research conducted and the follow-up analyses of the results obtained, it is possible to state that most respondents consider corporal punishment as an appropriate educational means, and that the factor that most influences the selection of educational means is one{\crq}s own childhood experience with corporal punishment.
