Optimization of methods for determining the durability of wood coating systems
Škvařil, Michael ; Žák, Antonín (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the optimization of methods for determining the durability of wood coating systems. The theoretical part deals with a detailed analysis of wood coating systems, including the specification of their composition, especially with a focus on modern water-borne coating systems. In the practical part an experiment was carried out, where on the selected types of coatings applied to lumber was performed analysis of selected durability parameters of coatings after exposure to short-term and long-term exposure to degradation factors
Long-term tests for examination of surface treatments in various adverse environments simulating real effects
Hudečková, Petra ; Vacula, Miroslav (referee) ; Bydžovský, Jiří (advisor)
Cement bonded particleboards contain organic base and as they are set outside, extreme weather condition, such as frost, chemical defrosting substances or sulphates, cause their degradation. The presence of the organic base in the matrix of the material could be the reason why there is higher probability of degrading when compared with materials containing an inorganic base. It could be partially eliminated by an appropriate surface modification of the slab, which main goal is to weaken the impact of an aggressive environment and to extend the lifespan of the board. On the other hand, the surface modifications based on a polymer base are prone to degrade because of other unfavourable conditions such as UV radiation when compared with the cement bonded particleboard. The classification of the surface modifications and the way of their degradation caused by the aggressive environment in real applications are presented in the theoretical part of the thesis. In the experimental part, appropriate methodical ways of testing the resistance of cement bonded particleboard’s coating system were chosen. Then, the testing and comparing of the physical, mechanical and aesthetic properties of different types of coatings were done. Moreover, a spectrophotometric analysis of the colour shade changes for the different aggressive environment were carried out. Furthermore, microstructures of chosen surface modifications were assessed by using an optical and an electron microscope.
Design of coating system with integrated milling head for 3D printing of metal prototypes
Rafaja, Hynek ; Vrána, Radek (referee) ; Koutný, Daniel (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with conceptual and design solution of coating system with integrated milling head for 3D printing of metal prototypes. It contains a simple overview of produced machines with similar technology. Further, the thesis contains conceptual solutions from which the final version is selected according to the specified parameters. Based onthe selected variant, a design of the application system with a built-in milling head for SLM280HL is created and detailed.
Influence of material base of coating systems onto wood durability
Bednářová, Ilona ; Petránek, Vít (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
The thesis deals with the influence of the base material of the coating systems for wood durability when we exposed them to external conditions. The theoretical part is devoted to wood durability and weather resistance with a detailed description of the tests the durability of coating systems. A substantial part of the theory is devoted to description binder component of the coating material. In the practical part was performed the experiment, which examined the influence of the thickness of the coating system, the type of coating material (paint or lasure) as well as the type of binder (water dispersion with an alkyd or acrylic resin, respectively solution coating system with the alkyd resin). All coating systems were exposed to natural and artificial durability tests. The criterions for evaluation were chosen differences of colours.
Interaction of adhesive tapes with surfaces of structural aeronautical alloys
Matlák, Jiří ; Tulka,, Jaromír (referee) ; Molliková, Eva (advisor)
This work deals with the selection of the most appropriate adhesive tape, which one perfectly adheres to the surface of sheet, which is made of dural coated with aluminum in 99,5 % purity, and to the dural angle without surface treatment. The tape is expected to be de-cohesion and disruption resistant during the application of complex coating system to protect the materials in air traffic against corrosion, and smoothly removal of the treated material without affecting the surface. Twelve types of commercially available adhesive tape were tested, and the most appropriate one was chosen after extensive experiment and photographic documentation.
Optimizing requirements for wood coatings
Bednářová, Ilona ; Petránek, Vít (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
The work deals with wood coating systems. It is focused on the theoretical division of paints due to different aspects, moreover on testing of wood coating systems. In the practical part of the work, the experimental work regarding the influence of weather conditions onto durability of different wood coatings system was preceded. They were compared two different coatings within the basic tests in different environments.
