The usability of postcrossing game in regional geography teaching in Junior-high school

The thesis deals with the possibility of using the game "Postcrossing" in teaching regional geography at the 2nd stage of primary schools. The main goal of this thesis is to create overview of basic principles and rules of the game and to develop proposals for educational activities resulting from the "Postcrossing" game. The thesis also includes a practical part, which contains the description of problems and positive outcomes that were revealed during the practical realization. The result is a list of suggestions for classroom activities that are applicable in school practice.

The publication analyzes the way and quality of households’ housing by their type and other factors, based on Census 2011. Housing conditions are researched separately, according to the age groups of heads of households. The analysis assesses the development of households’ housing in the post-communist period and focuses on spatial comparison of basic features of the housing stock by type of households at the regional level.

The use of project - based learning in the teaching regional geography of South America

The main theme of the thesis is to create a suggestion of my own teaching material for teaching the topic of regional geography of South America on the 2nd stage of Primary school with the use of project ? based teaching and practical form of teaching and it ´s posibility of teaching outside a Primary school. The suggestion of the teaching material is in the form of woorkbook that contains worksheets for suggestion project dealing with the topic regional geography of South America and Amazon. There was also created mehtodological guide for teachers to help them in organization of these projects. The teaching text itself corresponds to principles defined in the current educational documents. The teoretici part evaluates the signifikance and status of the topic regional geography of South America in the curriculum in the kontext of the Framework Educational Programme for Elementary Education and the school educational programmes of school monitored. The next chapters are devoted to the didactic function analysis of current educational textbooks and workbooks for the 2nd stage Primary schools and to evaluace the importance of the project ? based in the teaching of Geography.
Teaching the Local Region on the Second Grade of Primary Schools on the Example of Žďár nad Sázavou region.

The diploma thesis deals with teaching the local region on the second stage of primary school. The main aim is oriented on creation design concepts of the curriculum to teach the local region of Žďár nad Sázavou. The diploma thesis consists of three parts. The theoretical part deals with the geographical characteristics of the monitored area, the role of the curriculum in the context of current curricular documents in the Czech Republic and modern methods of teaching geography at the 2nd stage of primary school. In the research part there are developed and evaluated the results of the survey conducted in selected primary schools. The practical part includes educational materials in the form of two multimedia textbooks, worksheets for pupils and methodological guides for teachers.
Geographic-ethnographic characteristics of the region Podluží

This diploma thesis ?Geographic-ethnographic characteristics of the region Podluží? concentrates on the territorial boundaries of the region Podluží, characteristics of the physical-geographical systems, socio-economic sphere and ethnography of the region. The theoretical part deals with the key terms that are the cornerstones of this thesis. Following practical parts are devoted to the definition of the region Podluží based on a comparison of source maps and questionnaire survey. Geographic and ethnographic characteristics serve as a source of information for didactic transformation, resulting in the production of the billboard. This billboard provides a synthesis of the characteristic features that create the original image of the region Podluží.
Telč region - Local region in teaching at the Second Grade of Primary School

Prokopová, M. (2013): Telč region - Local region in teaching at the Second Grade of Primary School. Thesis, University of South Bohemia, Pedagogical Faculty, Department of Geography, 85 pages. The thesis focuses on teaching about Telč region theme in basic schools. The thesis is composed from theoretical and practical parts. The purpose of the theoretical part of this work is to characterize Telč region and define its place in educational curriculum with emphasis on the key competences. The practical part based on empirical research summarizes findings of students´ knowledge about the region. The questionnaire examines different types of educational ways of teachers. According to this research I suggest my own conception (teaching methods, excursions, projects and workbooks) proceeding from The Czech Educational Curriculum for basic schools.

Konference mapuje téma stále živější a aktuálnější. Hledání kořenů, identity a integrujících prvků člověka v krajině v minulosti a dnes spolu neoddělitelně souvisí. Jedná se o složitou, transdisciplinární problematiku, k níž se vyjadřují historikové, geografové, etnologové, sociologové, demografové a mnozí další odborníci. Kritéria a možné přístupy k charakteristice a pojetí regionů svědčí o mnohovrstevnaté tematice, dotýkající se současné Evropy (a škály jejích regionů včetně Euroregionů) i historických evropských zemí a států. Cílem konference bylo ilustrovat šíři tématu, naznačit obecné i speciální otázky a teoretické úvahy propojit s regionálními sondami.Vědomí historické příslušnosti k vlastnímu regionu totiž bude i nadále hrát ve společnosti nezastupitelnou roli.

Current state of physico-geographical investigations in the Institute of Geonics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic
Kirchner, Karel
Physico-geographical investigations in the framework of the Institute of Geonics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic are carried out in the Department of Environmental Geography in the Brno Branch. Geonics was defined as a science which studies the substance of processes occurring in the Earth crust due to anthropogenic activities including environmental impacts. Activities of the Brno Branch are concentrated on an evaluation of human impact on landscape and a study of the interactions between nature and society. The investigation in the Brno Branch has the direct link to the regional geography, that frequent trend of the Czech regional geographical research is solution of environmental problems in regions. Physical geographers solve research tasks in the framework of environmental geography. Collaboration between physical and human geographers is a basic concept for research projects in the Brno Branch. In the last 10 years, physico-geographical investigation has concentrated to the partial research directions: - geomorphological investigations, - climatic hydrological investigations, - biogeographical and geoecological investigations.
