Příčiny eliminace koní ve vytrvalostních soutěžích a jejich prevence
ŠVARCOVÁ, Jana
The aim of this work was to acquire, process and evaluate information about the most common reasons for the elimination of horses from endurance competition races in the Czech Republic. Information about the veterinary status of horses was obtained from the main judges of various horse races held in the Czech Republic, from the horses' endurance cards, which record the factors evaluated during the competition itself, and where it is possible to find out what worsens most often, and how the cause manifests itself. Veterinary cards of individual horses and races were chosen randomly. The veterinary cards were evaluated with the aid of a full text commentary, giving detailed descriptions of each worsened factor, including their frequency. It was then suggested how problems could be avoided. Individual data was summarized, and the differences between individual groups of competitions were expressed. Based on the analysis of veterinary cards from participating horses in endurance competitions, recommendations were made on how to prevent problems, and what specific problems the riders should consider during the race. The most serious and common problems of horses in terms of endurance are described. It was found that the most common reason for the worsening of horses in endurance races is the factor known in Czech as "Chody", or Lameness. The most frequent deteriorating factor in veterinary controls was with the Mucous Membrane. In more than 80% of horses, more than two factors worsened during the race, which did not improve during the race in any way, but often even worsened. Many factors affect deterioration, from training and preparation of the horse, to the knowledge of the horse itself. The results show that most riders in the Czech Republic are not sufficiently informed. There is insufficient care for horses during endurance races. The riders are not experienced enough to prevent injuries or deterioration of the horse's health resulting in exclusion from races.

The diploma thesis aims the attention on reduction diets at pupils at choosing school. The teoretical part describe the development of the pubety age, the accurate regime according to the pupils' proces, the types of reduction diets, the alternative food and the following motion aktivity. To gain the information is used the quantitative approach of questionnaire survey and then the structured conversation that is led with choosing pupils, then there is created the preparation of...
Využití Dornovy metody při poruchách pohybového aparátu psů
Brandejská, Kateřina
In my Bachelor Thesis I deal with the anatomy and physiology of the dog support apparatus and describe Dorn's method as one of the possible therapies that can help in removing the mechanical causes that lead to certain diseases of the locomotor apparatus. In the first part I deal with anatomy and physiology of bones, muscles and fascia. Next, I present the Dorn´s method and what it serves more precisely. Diseases are an integral part of the therapist's knowledge, so I devote a great deal of work to them and analyze the possibilities of treating individual illnesses. Beginners and recommended therapists must be familiar with contraindications in which the Dorn´s method can not be performed. In the next chapter I deal with cupping because it is one of the parts of the Dorn´s method in the case of dropped vertebral joints. In conclusion, we mention dog sports, dog handling, veterinary treatments, breeding dogs and more.
Vliv pastevního odchovu na růst a kondici koně
Klabanová, Monika
This thesis deals with pasture breeding of horses and its influence on growth and fitness. The main focus is on the pasture rearing issue. Physiological characteristics, which include also growth and fitness are described first. In the next chapter of this thesis, possibilities of measuring of horses, measuring tools and principles that must be followed are presented. Pasture breeding, properly managed and equipped pastures, the composition of permanent grassland and advantages and disadvantages of pasture breeding are also described. The last chapter contains a questionnaire on the topic of pasture issues. This work is complemented by photo documentation.
Zhodnocení životních projevů králíka domácího
Střeštíková, Yvona
The goal of bachelor thesis was to assess the lives of domestic rabbits in small breeding conditions. The first part of my thesis focuses on the scientific field of ethology while the second part observes the rabbits themselves. It characterizes the breeds that created the studied crossbreeds. Furthermore, it describes the housing technology and the main rabbit diseases. Thesis included an experiment which examined the lives of rabbits using the imaging method. It was created an ethogram, tables, and graphs that showed the discovered values. Conclusion was that the individual rabbits were more active in the pen and performed many more activities they were not really able to do in the hutch.
Physiological changes during honeybee (Apis mellifera) ontogenesis and between castes
Martišková, Ester ; Erban, Tomáš (advisor) ; Čapková Frydrychová, Radmila (referee)
This work is focused on describing the individual differences in physiology of honeybee Apis mellifera during its development. It also compares the differences between the individual caste. A lot of complex rebuilding of the whole organism takes place during the development of Apis Mellifera. Because of that, especially in the early stages, it is important to ensure a great supply of energy. Larvae need to acquire an abundant source of nutrients, so they can grow fast and have a sufficient storage for the pupal stage, during which the new body reorganization takes place. Newly emerged bees then need to quickly get accustomed to the new environment a assume their role in the hive. Queens need a constant supply of energy, so they can lay eggs for as long as possible. Drones focuse mainly on mating with the queen. The life of Apis mellifera is also influenced by other factors, primarly by numerous diseases and pathogens. The results of this work can give a comprehensive idea about the complex development of an individual bee and give a of further research. There are still a lot a lot of unanswered and unexplored realities in biology of bees, that could a topic of study and help us better understand their importance for nature.
Melissococcus plutonius causing European foulbrood
Navrátilová, Blanka ; Hubert, Jan (advisor) ; Titěra, Dalibor (referee)
European foulbrood is a bacterial disease attacking honey bee larvae worldwide. It is caused by bacterium Melissococcus plutonius, which is a non-spore-forming, Gram positive, anaerobic bacterium. The adult bees are not affected but serve as a vector of the disease as they carry the bacterium within their own bodies and can travel big distances from their hive and also may interact with other hives especially when their own colony is suffering. Once the bacterium is introduced into the colony, it either remains benign and unnoticed for years, keeping its population low, or it can multiply vigorously within the brood and destroy the entire bee populations. Despite having been described many decades ago, M. plutonius as such along with its virulence remain poorly understood and therefore there is no treatment efficient enough that would keep this bacterium along with the disease under control. Hence it is of a great importance to recognize its presence soon enough to prevent the outbreak. This thesis brings together the knowledge we have so far about this mysterious bacterium and sums up how European foulbrood is being treated all around the world.
