Experimental determination of factors affecting the static modulus of elasticity of concrete using non-destructive testing methods
Kocáb, Dalibor ; Bílek,, Vlastimil (referee) ; Pazdera, Luboš (referee) ; Cikrle, Petr (advisor)
The Ph.D. thesis deals with one of the most important characteristics of hardened concrete; i.e. the modulus of elasticity. The thesis aims to describe and evaluate the important factors that affect the final value of concrete modulus of elasticity, especially those that can be influenced during construction. Another aim is to find ways to determine the static modulus of elasticity of concrete by non-destructive means (primarily ultrasonic pulse method, resonance method and use of electronic rebound hammers), thus to determine the possibility of creating calibration curve for NDT determination of the modulus of elasticity.
Study of thermal resistance of reinforced wood members
Janoušek, Radek ; Krbila, Jaromír (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis studies the problem of thermal resistance of a system consisting of timber as a structural member with external strengthening in the form of carbon fibre reinforced polymer lamellas connected by various types of adhesives. Attention will be paid to the thermal resistance of reinforced timber members with subsequent mechanical load.
Performance tests of the recycled aggregates to roads
Karásková, Romana ; Valentin,, Jan (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The work is divided into two parts. The practical part deals with the testing properties of soils which are using in new road in Nové Město na Moravě and the testing of recycled materials which could replace this soils from road. The aim this part is to obtain values of elastic modulus which are then inserted into the computational model. In the second part of work the track road is modeled in the software which uses the Finite Element Method to calculate and respect physical properties of different materials and a load. The result of work will be studies with comparison of displacement and stress generated to using existing soils and recycled materials.
Polymer nanocomposites for interior car body parts
Miškolci, Michal ; Bálková, Radka (referee) ; Jančář, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is interested in the problem of scratch resistance of interior car body parts. In this thesis, the solution is seen in using polycarbonate – based nanocomposites. In theoretical part, a literature search of this theme was made. In experimental part, the samples based on polycarbonate were prepared, and their tensile modulus was tested, as one of the main parameter affecting the scratch resistance.
The modification of the cyclic triaxial test
Nevrlá, Alice ; Pecha, Karel (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on determining resilient modulus of unbound granular material for subbase and subgrade pavement construction using different types of cyclic load triaxial testing procedures in Czech Republic and abroad and compares them. The practical part then deals with comparison of methods presented in Czech Standard ČSN EN 13286-7 used for resilient modulus determination of mixed recycled material, finegrained soil and fly ash.
Influence of multiple cyclic loading on the selected parameters of lightweight concrete
Alexa, Martin ; Misák, Petr (referee) ; Kocáb, Dalibor (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the observation of the values of selected parameters (especially the static modulus of elasticity) of light-weight concrete in compression before and after multiple cyclic loading. The deformation of test specimens during multiple cyclic loading were measured with resistive strain gauges. Test specimens (cylinders with a diameter of 150 mm and height of a 300 mm) were cyclically loaded and up to 4 500 loading cycles were performed. The aim of this thesis is assessment changes in the values of static modulus of elasticity depending on the number of loading cycles.
The comparison of testing methods using for determining the frost resistance of concrete
Kněbort, David ; Vymazal, Tomáš (referee) ; Kocáb, Dalibor (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of evaluating the degradation of mechanical resistance of non-air-entrained concrete in the structure by frost cycles. The first part is focused on concrete, its resistance and test methods. This is followed by the definition of frost resistance, the effects of freeze-thaw on concrete at all stages of its service life and the possibilities of determining freeze-thaw resistance according to current standards. It describes in more detail selected test methods for determining frost resistance. In the practical part, it focuses on the determination of degradation resistance of test specimens made in molds and taken from the structure using reference and non-reference methods. In conclusion, it compares the different test methods and their suitability for the determination of freeze-thaw resistance.
Use of RAP in coarse-grained asphalt mixtures
Teslík, Jozef ; Dašek, Ondřej (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis examines the possibilities of using R-material in coarse-grained asphalt mixtures for ACP32 base layers. The theoretical part deals with the availability of aggregates in the Czech Republic and also solves the issue of producing asphalt mixtures with a higher content of R-material. The theoretical part also compares the use of R-materials in the Czech Republic with other countries. The practical part deals with the design, production and testing of selected mixtures. To determine the properties of the mixtures, the rolling wheel tests, TSRST and the determination of the modulus of elasticity were selected.
Determination of dynamic modules of brick body
Valentová, Renata ; Hubáček,, Adam (referee) ; Brožovský, Jiří (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the determination of dynamic modulus of elasticity non-destructive methods of brick body. The test samples were laboratory-made from two types of brick earth and further were used cotouts from the full brick types clinker. For measuring were used ultrasonic impulse and resonant-impact method.
The building waste for bound mixtures of the pavements
Pokluda, Radim ; Valentin,, Jan (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
In the theoretical part of the thesis are generally characterized hydraulically bound mixtures, their types, classification systems, manufacturing technology and the laying. There are also described experiences from abroad with the use secondary and recycled materials in hydraulically bound mixtures. The practical part deals with the experimental verification of the possibility of the use of secondary materials in hydraulically bound mixtures in construction of road infrastructure. In road laboratory Institute of road structures Brno university of technology was the five proposed mixtures, an assessment of their parameters with regard to the possibility of using these mixtures in the road sub-base layers. The work is also aimed at comparison of results elasticity modules reached laboratory testing and experimental measurements on road polygon.
