There are suggestions for improving the current situation, including economic evaluation, to achieve efficient and most importantly secure data backup.

The diploma thesis deals with the problem of storage capacities of server discs in the allowance organization of Brno City Museum. The organization has long-lasting troubles with insufficient capacity of these discs. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the current state and to propose a suitable solution on the basis of the results of this analysis. Further, the suggested measures should be applied as well.

Backup of documents in goverment information systems

The thesis is focused on backup documents in the public administration information systems. First chapters of thesis are devoted to general theories of backup files and databases. Next is described storage media what is used for backups, their advantages and disadvantages. Afterwards are described the most common backup strategies and rotation scheme. Thesis is devoted after that to analysis of a representative information system that is used to publish documents to the public. Based on information obtained from analysis is selected optimal backup strategy and this strategy is implemented and tested in designed application.

High availability Microsoft Sql Server

The thesis contains a complete theoretical overview of high availability technologies in Microsoft SQL Server. For each technology, guidance is provided for the deployment of technologies. Technologies are analyzed from a security perspective, they are determined advantages and disadvantages of using technology in practice and is determined the optimal variant of use of the technology. High availability technology are compared with each other and is given the availability of individual technologies in versions of MS SQL Server. The thesis contains three scenarios with practical examples of using technology for high availability in practice. It provides an analysis of high-availability features in Oracle and are subsequently compared high availability features in Oracle environments with high availability technology in MS SQL Server.
