Aerodynamics of race car underbodies

The aim of this bachelor thesis is clarifying principle of downforce, which is originating by ground effect. The thesis consists of theoretic description of this phenomen, explanations of ground effect on the racing circuit and presentation of several examples working with this effect.

Truck aerodynamic parameters

The main goal of this bachelor´s work is to depict and describe terms form the aerodynamics field in order to understand the problem of aerodynamics of the vehicles. Here is created overall view of constructive elements that lower aerodynamic resistance of vehicles and methods of survey of aerodynamic parameters. The work also contain the difference of mentioned parameters of suburban and truck cars.

Ground effect in motorsport

This bachelor thesis describes ground effect, its influence on car aerodynamics and its use in motorsport. The thesis describes the dependence of downforce created by ground effect on the design and set-up of the race car, as well as on the downforce generating parts' relative movement in relation to the track during a race. Advantages and disadvantages of the use of ground effect aerodynamics are discussed as well. Next, there is brief summary of the use of ground effect throughout the history of motorsport. At the end, attention is paid to modern race and sport cars using the ground effect aerodynamics.
