Use of calculation of 14CO2 volume activity for reconstruction of radiocarbon content changes in atmosphere
Světlík, Ivo ; Fejgl, M. ; Turek, Karel ; Pachnerová Brabcová, Kateřina ; Tomášková, Lenka
Atmospheric 14CO2 provides valuable information for better specification of carbon transport in nature. Radioactive 14C allows calculating some data related to the residence time of carbon in natural sinks as the atmosphere, oceans and biota. The work presents the estimation of 14CO2 content temporal changes in the atmosphere using the radiocarbon calibration curve IntCal09 and data about CO2 concentration during last 50 thousands years.
Representative experiments recent carried out on microtron MT25
Chvátil, David ; Krist, Pavel
This article aims to provide readers with some interesting experiments carried out on microtron MT25 in last months. The cyclic electron accelerator- microtron MT25 is simply source of electron, photon and neutron beams with energy range from 6MeV to 25MeV.
Emergent Phenomena, Morphomatics and Theory of Complexity
Bíla, J. ; Krist, Pavel
This paper is devoted to knowledge and symbolical environments for grasping of emergent phenomena. Respecting the fact that the origin of shapes of nature has its essence in emergencies the paper turns attention to formalisms for direct work with such “shapes” (Morphomatics). There are described three environments for grasping of emergent phenomena especially environment 2 as a cognitive tool and environment 3 as dynamic relation between Macrostructure and Microstructure emphasizing their mutual interactions. As an example of formalism developed from synthesis of the introduced three environments is illustrated the use of theory of matroids (dual of Fano matroid) for case of supergravity D=11.
Using constraint programming in anytime path planner
Zerola, Michal
Path planning in one of the critical tasks for autonomous robots. We will study the problem of finding the shortest path for a robot collecting waste spread over the area such that thet robot has a limited capacity and hence during the route it must periodically visit depost/collectors to empty the collected waste.
Residual Stresses Assessment in Coated Materials: Complementarity between Neutron and X-Ray Techniques
Rogante, M. ; Mikula, Pavol ; Vrána, Miroslav
The residual stress (RS) status induced in the substrate of coated materials by the coating process plays frequently a major role in lending the component’s characteristics. RS assessment can give, thus, a substantial contribution in justifying different cases of failure or else bad performance of coated components due to e.g. the coating delamination or to other occurrences which are not simply interpretable via the conventional mechanical tests or microstructure analyses. The adoption of both neutron diffraction (ND) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques has revealed its usefulness in assessing the RS values in proximity of the coating interface area, respectively, without any layer removal or hole drilling at the extreme surface.
Chemical Composition of PM2.5 at Rural Backround Site Košetice
Schwarz, Jaroslav ; Havránek, Vladimír
PM2.5 generally represents fine fraction of atmospheric aerosol. Fine particles may remain in the atmosphere for days or even weeks and therefore they may be transported over long distances. Moreover, they may increase the background levels of atmospheric aerosol mass far from their origin. They have important adverse health effects and in the same time, they influence climate due to their direct and indirect effects on Earth radiative balance. To know the origin of PM2.5 aerosol, its chemical composition can serve as the diary of contacts with aerosol sources and transformations. Therefore it is necessary to study PM2.5 chemical composition if the fine aerosol sources should be revealed. A rural background site study can serve as a basis enabling to determine the real influence of larger sources like cities or an industry.
