Effect of Gas Flow on Plasma Jet Generated by Hybrid H2O-Ar Torch
Kavka, Tetyana ; Kopecký, Vladimír ; Hrabovský, Milan ; Sember, Viktor ; Konrád, Miloš
This paper present results of experimental investigation of effect of argon plasma gas flow rate on characteristics of plasma jet in a H2O-Ar DC arc plasma torch. Two different diagnostics technics optical spectroscopy and enthalpy probe have been applied to study plasma jet under atmospheric pressure.Changes inplasma temperature, velocity and composition for different flow rates of argo.
Study of Anode Attachment Behavior and Its Influence on Plasma Jet in Water-Argon Plasma Torch
Chumak, Oleksiy ; Hrabovský, Milan ; Kopecký, Vladimír ; Konrád, Miloš
In this paper behavior of anode attachment and its effect on plasma jet in dc water-argon plasma torch was studied.Dependence of plasma jet deflection on argon flow rate and on arc current was investigated.Effect of arc current and plasma gas flow rate on position of anode attachment and on arc voltage fluctuations were studied and processes that control the position was discussed.
Spectroscopic and Enthalpy probe Diagnostics of Fluctuating H2O-Ar Thermal Plasma Jet
Sember, Viktor ; Kavka, Tetyana ; Kopecký, Vladimír ; Hrabovský, Milan
Time averaged OES and EP measurements of the temperature and mole fraction of entrained air in the H2O-Ar dc arc thermal plasma jet are compared. It is shown that choosing an appropriate method of evaluation of spectroscopic data may reduce the effects of fluctuations and departures from equilibrium and lead to more realistic results. The differences between OES and EP measurements.
Reabsorption of Radiation in Water-Vortex Stabilized Electric arc and Influence on arc Performance
Jeništa, Jiří
The present paper is concerned with numerical modelling of an electric arc stabilized by water vortex.Two-dimensional aximetric model includes the arc discharge area between the cathode and the outlet nozzle of the water plasma torch. The aim of numerical simulation is to demonstrate arc performance for two radiation models involved and to estimate validity of local thermodynamic equlibrium (LTE)conditions within the arc column.
Characterization of Anisotropic, Thermally Sprayed Microstructures Using Small-Angle Neutron Scattering
Keller, T. ; Wagner, W. ; Margadant, N. ; Siegmann, S. ; Ilavský, J. ; Písačka, Jan
Increasing industrial importance of thermally sprayed deposits accelerates the need for reliable and sufficietly copmlex microstructure characterization techniques.Practice has shown that industry standard techniques-image analysis of cross sections and intrusion porosimetry-do not yield enough detailed picture to able to distinguish properties controlling mechanisms.
Capillary Discharge Based Laser System
Frolov, Oleksandr ; Koláček, Karel ; Schmidt, Jiří ; Boháček, Vladislav ; Řípa, Milan
This article reviews the progress in the development of practical table-top soft x-ray based on the capillary discharge.Especially results of the last decade proved that discharge created plasmas in capillaries are sufficiently uniform to allow for soft x-ray amplication.Compact fast capillary discharges have been show to succesfully concentrate large amounts of electrically stored.
Condensed Polyphosphate Pigments Prepared in WSP 500 plasmochemical reactor
Brožek, Vlastimil ; Hrabovský, Milan ; Kopecký, Vladimír ; Trojan, M.
The polyphosphate pigments were produced in a high enthalpy oxygen-hydrogen plasma jet generated in water stabilized plasma torch.
Behaviour of Powder Particles in Thermal Plasma Generated by Hybrid Water-Argon Torch
Chumak, Oleksiy ; Kopecký, Vladimír ; Hrabovský, Milan
The velocity and trajectories of particles injected into thermal plasma jet were measured for hybrid argon/water plasma torch. Effect of argon flow rate on distribution of particle velocities was investigated. Two-dimensional model of particle motion in plasma jet was formulated and computation results were compared with measurements.
Investigation of Heat and Mass Fluxes in Thermal Plasma Jet Generated in Water and Water-Argon Plasma Torches
Kavka, Tetyana ; Gregor, Jan ; Sember, Viktor ; Hrabovský, Milan
Two types of thermal plasma generator with water and gas-water stabilization of electric arc were investigated. Profiles of plasma temperature and velocity in generated plasma jets were determined by enthalpy probe diagnostics.Mass, momentum and enthalpy fluxes in the jet were determined from the measurements for both plasma torches.
