Photoluminescence diagnostic method with transmission illumination
Kafka, Martin ; Veselý, Aleš (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is an innovation of photoluminescence measure research workplace for measurement of cells structure defects by method of transmissive illumination while employing the current methods of measurement of defect in the solar cells structure. The first part deals with explanation of historical development of solar energy, of how we can reach production of electric power with contribution of solar radiation and defines usability of solar cells in practice. The thesis further analyses a practical application of measurement via laboratory diagnostic methods used by Department of Electrotechnology Brno University of Technology. The second part is focused on mechanical design of experimental photoluminescence measure workspace used for quick diagnostic defects employing the rear arousing source for detection of defects with assistance of transmissive system of illumination. Finally, with co-operation of SOLARTEC s.r.o. three types of solar cells are measured by this new method and compared with results of measurement via diagnostic methods of LBIV (Light Beam Induced Current), LBIC (Light Beam Induced Voltage), Electroluminescence, Photoluminescence, and detection defects by radiation of Microplasma.
Modification of measurement workplace for solar cells
Roček, Radovan ; Bača, Petr (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
The problems of solar cells are described in general in theoretic part of the master’s thesis. In particular there is described structure of solar cells, procedure of production of solar cells, kinds of defects that can occur in solar cells and diagnostic methods of detection of this defects. The solar simulator, electroluminescence method, detection of defects during microplasma shining, LBIV and LBIC method belongs to category of diagnostic methods. The main focusing is on diagnostic method of LBIC (Light Beam Inducted Current). The workplace which exploits this method is used in laboratory in Department of Electrotechnology on University of Technology Brno. This method is very exact and it reveals most of defects in solar cell but the problem is the slow speed of testing. In practical part of the master’s thesis the main solved problem is the proposition and realization of modified workplace of LBIC that would work on more modern level, it means using performer PC for service program and Agilent 34410A the modern measuring device. The speed up of the testing time is the goal of modernization in existing accuracy of finding. The modify workplace is realized and compared with the existing workplace subsequently.
Development control programme for autonomous fotovoltaic system
Janáč, Stanislav ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The project considers realization system, which allows us to test six different operation modes on lifetime of accumulators. The system will be connected to computer, that will perform measurement of current and voltage and switch betwen charge and discharge modes. The measured values will be recorded in certain time intervals to computer memory. After some time these measured data will be analised and the most optimal operational mode will be set.
Application of laser processes in crystalline silicon solar cells fabrication
Zapletal, Petr ; Švecová, Olga (referee) ; Hladík, Jiří (advisor)
Master's thesis is aimed at the use of given type of laser in the solar cells manufacturing. The first part of thesis is focused on photovoltaic theory, lasers and photovoltaic applications of solid-state lasers. Second part of thesis is practical realization of theoretical analysis. The evaluation of laser usability for variety of applications on solar cells and recommendation for entry settings on laser.
Solar cells photoluminescence defect detection methods
Vala, Zbyněk ; Veselý, Aleš (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis discusses modern methods for fast defect detection of solar cells. For the means of the defect classification, the technological production process of crystalline silicon solar cells is described. The defects are researched by the electroluminescence and prohtoluminescence methods. The Photoluminiscence method is improved by the posibility of using different wavelenght of excitacion sources. The range of using in industrial production is determined for the discussed methods.
Shadow effect on solar systems characteristic
Dus, Ondřej ; Bača, Petr (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
This work deals with study of shadow effect on solar system characteristic. The general aim is to design and create solar module for study of shadow effect and measurement under solar simulator.
Application of radiation emitted from local areas of PN junction for solar cell diagnostics
Krčál, Ondřej ; Raška, Michal (referee) ; Macků, Robert (advisor)
The microplasma discharges in the PN junction local defect micro-regions are as a rule, accompanied by the emission of light. This radiation from solar cell PN junctions was measured by means of a optical fibre connected to the optical input of a photomultiplier. By inching the fibre by means of computercontrolled X-Y plotter above the cell surface a 2-D image of the irradiation local regions has been created. It is seen that a cell of a superficial area of 100 square cm contains a large number of defects, which depends on applied reverse voltage. This method can be a convenient tool for study and diagnostics of optoelectronic devices.
Noise diagnostic of solar cells
Krahulec, Martin ; Macků, Robert (referee) ; Sadovský, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with detailed theoretical and experimental investigation of noise and transport characteristics of selected photovoltaic cells in both forward and reversed directions focusing on the area of local PN junction instability (within the microplasma regions). It will be studied the correlation among different characteristics.
Workplace for measurement of substitute scheme of Photovoltaic cells
Klein, Radek ; Kosina, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Jiří (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis is to analyse solar cells, demonstrate linearized model of PN junction and show basic techniques of measurement of this model. Solar cells measurement and acquired results are also presented.
Degradation test of polymer material in the high electric fields
Martynek, Aleš ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
This document includes methods of testing and measuring of the protective layers used in solar panels with crystallic solar cells. The main emphasis here is placed on the degradation of these materials due to exposure to strong electric field. Main point of diploma thesis is evovle an experimental workplace for electric aging of dielectric materials and monitor changes of material properties. Final knowledges are then analysed with the climate degradation tests. Tested samples were prepared in cooperation with Solartec s.r.o.
