Starting the third decade of the development of probabilistic reliability assessment method using SBRA approach
Marek, Pavel
As the SBRA method was being developed, attention was focused on a probabilistic approach to the safety, serviceability and durability assessment of structural elements, components, and systems using the Monte Carlo technique. The computer revolution has made possible the transition from the earlier deterministic and prescriptive methods to application of fully probabilistic method. The paper briefly reviews the state of the SBRA methods and sets forth a roadmap for the next decade.

This bachelor thesis examines possible causes of an busi-ness failure in case of a shortly established fashion shop belonging to the category of small and middle sized enterpri-ses. The target of this thesis was to evaluate the development of this business during the last three months and the potential for its failure. As a basis for this evaluation was used the business plan and its comparison with the actual develop-ment after three months of functioning. Besides finding the potential causes for failure, the author's aim included also recommendations for their avoidance in the future. In writing of this thesis the author used, in addition to the paperwork of the business in question, that is, the owner's documentation, also information and facts obtained through her own research.

Variety of available and relevant researches were used in order to cover this topic properly, mainly the CSO(Czech Statistical Office) and the EC(Economic Chamber). Furthemore the own author's experience in this field was taken into account. This thesis was beeing processed in the time of the World Economic Crisis and therefore it partially also deals with this current issue. Firstly, the intention of this Bachelor's thesis is to avaluate possible causes and secondly to suggest conceivable sollution. However, the main goal is to draw the attention to potential impediments which could be unpleasantly surprising to the starting enterpriser and therefore should be as such bewared for the sake of avoiding needless problems.
