The manifestation of certified and farm seed potato
TROPPOVÁ, Halka
Thesis aims to evaluate the performance of certified and farming potato seed cultivars of Red Anna and Monika. Following aspects were evaluated: number of full-grown, tuber yield, the average number of tubers in a bunch, the average weight of tubers in a bunch, the average weight of one tuber and starch content. The experiment started in 2013 on the farm of Ing. Tomáš Dušička in Plasy. In the experiment there were used cultivars of Red Anna and Monika because of good reputation. Certified seed was used in reproduction level C2, farmer seed was gained in the same location. Tubers were planted on the 5th May 2013, using two row seed planter (row spacing 75cm and tuber distance 25cm). Tubers were planted in the height of 16cm. In the planted rows of field experiment there was marked area of 10m2 per repetition, which requires 45 full-grown bunches in the plot. Harvest of experimental plots was carried out manually since 15th to 17th September 2013. Each bunch was dug, then the total number of tubers in a bunch was counted. Finally, the whole bunch was weighted. Tubers were sorted into two categories by size using sieve (mesh size 40mm). Both categories were weighted. Study results reveal that in the first year of planting of own farm seed may not significantly affect the yield and starch content. In case of farm seed of Monika cultivar there was 12% increase in revenue and slightly higher yield of tubers for consumption.
A Yield and Risk Evaluation of Representative Commodities on the World Market
KLIMEŠOVÁ, Pavla
The topic of the bachelor thesis is a yield and risk evaluation of representative commodities on the world market. A literary work is focused on terms as commodities and a financial market. Commodities are divided into groups and the term of stock exchange is defined there. In the second part, there are mentioned terms as an investment, yield, risk, liquidity and connections among them. Furthermore there is paid attention to an analysis of time series. Following parts are analyses of commodities price development, evaluation of seasonality and a risk evaluation. The part after is about an exchange rate for Euro to U.S. Dollar.
Growing sorghum and maize for forage purposes
KUBEŠ, Pavel
Maize and sorghum are the most important crops worldwide, used for fodder, food and technical purposes. The aim of this thesis is to summarize information about the properties of these crops and possibilities of their usage as fodder plants. The sorghum is compared to determine the effect of the inter-row spacing on the yield of each variety of sorghum plant. The comparison resulted in the statement that the inter-row spacing has a significant effect on the yield of each species. The experiments proved that 12.5 50 cm rows resulted in the highest yields while the 75 cm rows showed decrease in the yields. The qualitative parameters of maize were tested for nutrient composition in relation to dry matter. The sources established that the optimum dry matter of the harvested material ranges between 30 33 %. It is the dry matter when the plants contain water-soluble sugar needed for fermentation process and animal nutrition. These plants also contain sufficiently high proportion of starch. The dry matter of the plant lower than 28 % and higher than 35 % is not suitable for silage.
The influence of origin in intensively bred European perch (\kur{Perca fluviatilis}) on mass yield, chemical composition and organoleptic properties of its meat
FLOKOVIČ, Ondřej
A breeding of seven European perch (Perca fluviatilis) groups of various origin was carried out under experimental conditions at 20°C temperature since the hatching of larval fish up till the age of 278 days, with intensive feeding using BioMar Inicio plus 0,55mm fodder with 15% fat content and BioMar Inicio plus 0,1mm fodder with 18% of fat content in later initial feeding. The average final weight of fish in the individual groups ranged between 79,4g and 27,63g. Mass yield statement (mass fraction of skinless filets, on the total mass), basic chemical analysis of filets (dry matter, crude protein, lipids and ash content) and organoleptic evaluation of musculature quality were carried out in the final stage of the growth test. No influence of the fish origin on the mass yield was detected. The average values ranged between 35,41% and 32,21%, but an influence of origin on crude protein content was discovered. The lowest values were determined in the population from the north of Germany 77,5% and the highest values on the contrary were determined in the population from the Štrbské Pleso lake 80,35%. The lowest lipids content was determined again in the population from the north of Germany 7,14%, while the highest fat content was detected in the population from Slovakia 8,66%. The results of organoleptic analysis didn't show substantial differences. Overall it can be stated that the monitoring didn't prove any substantial influences of fish origin on the parameters observed, which is confirmed by results of similar observations carried out by other authors e.g. with trout and carp.
Cultivation of Poopy (Papaver somniferum L.) and its food and other utilization
DUFFEK, Josef
This thesis deals with in the Czech Republic traditionally cultivated crop, and that is the poppy. The aim of my thesis is to summarize the findings in the literature search about the requirements and characteristics of the poppy, to find out his demands on growing, yield components, quality parameters and on the basis of literary research to recommend current and future growers an appropriate technology for the cultivation of this crop. In my thesis I focused on poppy cultivation technology from sowing to harvest, also on its quality and utilization.

Kuchtová, P. ; Šerá, Božena ; Hájková, M. ; Kazda, J. ; Dvořák, P. ; Gavril, B. ; Šerý, M. ; Miča, L. ; Hnatiuc, E. ; Špatenka, P.
The effect of treatment of low temperature atmospheric plasma generated between the electrodes (plasma type: GlidArc, time of exposition: 180 s) on the seeds germination, crop parameters and yield components of poppy seed (Papaver somniferum L., cultivars Major and Orfeus) was observed. Increased germination was observed in 3 of the 4 treated seed samples in comparison with the control sample. The number of growing plants was negatively influenced as well as yield. Cultivar Orpheus responded more sensitively to the plasma treatment than cultivar Major. A higher number of capsules harvested per plant was founded in 3 of the 4 field variants.
Evaluation of cultivar effect on tuber yield structure and selected parameters of tubers in Jerusalem Artichoke (\kur{Helianthus tuberosus} L.)
VANĚČEK, Petr
The aim of this bachelor's thesis was the evaluation of the effect of the Jerusalem artichoke´s (Helianthus tuberosus L.) genotype (clone) on yield structure and selected parameters of the tubers. A one-year field experiment was established on 25th April 2012 on the experimental station of the University of South Bohemia in the České Budějovice (altitude 395 m, a cereal production area), where 8 different genotypes (Refla, Lola, Gigant, Karina, Völkenroder Spindel, Úrodný, Běloslupký, C 63) were planted in 3 replications (spacing at 0.3 x 0.75 m). Úrodný and Gigant were evaluated as the earliest clones (appearing of the flower head 84 days after the date of the planting). The tubers of 5 consecutive plants from the middle row in each replication were harvested in autumn (on 31st October). All clones except clone Běloslupký (due to late planting) were statistically evaluated. The yield values moved in the range of 33.48 t/ha (C 63) to 44.74 t/ha (Úrodný). Genotype Völkenroder Spindel produced the most of the tubers per plant (average 24.3), but we identified the smallest average weight of the tubers (34.73 g) at this clone (R = 0.84%). The least tubers were produced by clone C 63 (16.3). The highest average weight of the tubers was achieved by genotype Úrodný (73.59 g; the 2nd place belongs to clone C 63 55.63 g). We used the method of the lyophilization (Alpha 1 4 LSC) to determine the dry matter content in tubers. The values of the dry matter content ranged from 18.85 % (Lola) to 22.36 % (Völkenroder Spindel). The quantity of the proteins and nitrogen contained in the dry matter were other parameters which we analyzed (BCA Protein Assay Kit, Pierce). The highest values of the proteins contained in the dry matter were obtained at the genotype Refla (6.13 %) and the lowest at the genotype Úrodný (3.90 %). The values of the nitrogen content moved in the range of 0.68 % (Lola) to 1.02 % (C 63). When we used methods of the SDS PAGE and the automatic chip electrophoresis we determined only quantitative differences of the proteins composition in the tubers. The approximate molecular weights of the identified proteins were 8, 20 30, 35, 40, 50, 65, 80, 85 a 90 kDa.

Comparison of basic characteristics (income, risks, degrees of effectiveness) in selected sectors and industries Stock Exchange
SAIKO, Michaela
The aim of this diploma work was to analyze a selected segment of the stock exchange market using the theory of market efficiency and the methods of technical and fundamental analysis, to form an optimal investment strategy on the basis of the findings. The American stock exchange market was analyzed. Six different segments of the capital market were selected ? gold, oil and gas pipelines, steel and iron, car parts, food and telecommunication services. Each segment was represented by eight companies. The general characteristics of the companies were compared according to their profits, degree of risk, alpha and beta coefficients. Fundamental analysis was used to monitor the correlation between future profits for 2012 and alpha coefficients for the period 2007 ? 2011. The theory was proven ? at low levels of future profits, high levels of alpha coefficients were measured and vice versa - at high levels of future profits, low levels of alpha coefficients were measured. During efficiency tests, runs tests and correlation tests were monitored. During runs tests, the number of turns of a real file was compared with the number of runs of a simulated file; no distinctive variances were identified in the monitored stock titles. Forms of market efficiency were proven during the correlation tests and runs tests. The methods of technical analysis used were sliding averages, RSI indicators and Momentum. Trading on the basis of technical analysis is not completely possible because we did not succeed in finding an existing optimal strategy. If an optimal strategy works out it is regardless of the segment?s characteristics. I recommend a passive strategy with regards to the fundamental analysis.
