The bachelor thesis focuses on manufacturing components with a minimal number of tools on a CNC lathe. To demonstrate the production of components with a minimal number of tools, manufacturing procedures for two components, A and B, were designed. Component A is a typical component of simple shape that can be manufactured with a low number of tools. Component B is more complex in shape, and two production variants were proposed for it: one with a higher number of tools and one with a reduced number of tools. For both components were were selected tools, proposed manufacturing procedures and time calculations were carried out. In conclusion, a technical – economic evaluation and comparison of both variants for component B were conducted.
Rationalization of holder production
Šidlák, Jaromír ; Zemčík, Oskar (referee) ; Sliwková, Petra (advisor)
This thesis presents a proposal to replace the weldment of a mount with a workpiece. The mount is part of a designer light and 200 of them are manufactured every year. The mount material has been changed from stainless steel 1.4301 to aluminium alloy EN AW 6082. Design modifications have been made to the part to improve its functional properties and reduce machine time when it is made. A semi-finished product from a cold-pressed and drawn round bar according to ČSN EN 755 – 1 was determined and its size was calculated. The degree of material usage was then determined, as was consumption of the material for the year’s production, which amounts to 6 bars 3 metres long. Machinery from the company’s portfolio was proposed for the modified part. The majority of the part is produced on a KL 285 CNC turning centre. Appropriate machining tools were chosen for the selected machines. The work includes the complete technological production process as well as the CNC programs for machining the part. They were created directly at the machine using the Sinumerik 828D control system, specifically its Shopturn superstructure. After debugging the program, the necessary machining tools were placed as appropriate in the machine. Prototypes were then made to verify that the technology was designed correctly and that the parts were manufacturable.

Design of production technology of an aluminum alloy flange
Vrbka, Tomáš ; Chladil, Josef (referee) ; Sliwková, Petra (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis aims to create a technological procedure for producing a flange, including subsequent instructions and select suitable tools, gauges, and machine parameters necessary for its production. One piece of flange was produced. The material of the flange is aluminium alloy EN AW-2017A. The flange is part of the diesel pump and has the priority function of sealing and guiding the pump camshaft. The flange was produced on a one machine DMG Mori CLX 450 universal CNC lathe on one clamping. To verify the functionality of the design, a 3D model of the flange was first created and printed. A technological procedure for producing the component was made, and a CNC program was created for the machine. Subsequently, the actual production of the part was carried out. For production, a rod with a diameter of 80 mm was used and fed to a length of 40 mm. Turning technology was used for machine the face, grooves, outer and inner contours. Milling was used for the recesses for the bolts and drilling was used for the holes. Iscar tools were selected for turning, and Hoffmann Group tools were chosen for milling and drilling. After production, the important dimensions were measured by using Mitutoyo and Bowers gauges and a Mahr roughness gauge.
