Hydrodynamic model of the Svitava and Svratka rivers in Brno

The Master‘s thesis deals with the assessment of the current state of flood protection in the rivers and floodplains of Svitava (km 0.000 - 2,050) and Svratka (km 26,370 - 33,963) in Brno. Using a combined 1D and 2D numerical model of water flow, hydraulic calculations of the peak flows of Q5, Q20 and Q100 were performed. For calculation, HEC-RAS 5.0.6 was used. The outputs were processed in the form of flood hazard maps and drawing documentation.
Hydrodynamic model in the area of the confluence of the rivers Svitava and Svratka

Master's thesis deals with present state assessment of flood hazard on rivers Svitava and Svratka in the southern part of Brno. Flood discharges Q5, Q20, Q100 and Q100N were solved using coupled 1D/2D numerical model. All results were evaluated as maps of hazard.
The return on investment associated with construction of a residential building in Brno

This diploma thesis is focused on return on investment associated with the construction of a residential building in Brno. First, the author finds all costs associated with the construction of a residential building. Subsequently, the residential building will be evaluated according, as a complex and as an individual flats. It will also be based on the prevailing prices of rents calculated yield value of the house. Then the comparative method provides the prevailing price of apartments in the area and find out how much revenue would amount to, if the house is sold off for flats. Finally the resulting values are compared among themselves and determine the best option to deal with new residential building in Brno.
Apartment rent and the factors that influence it in selected locations in Brno and Prague

Objective of of this work is to compare the rents in Prague and Brno and assess the factors that affect it. The first chapters present the theoretical information in the area of rental housing, the cross-section of the historical development of housing policy and a view of current issues of housing policy. Then I evaluate the factors, that inflict the level of rent. Data that solve the objective of my work, I found out through a questionnaire with realized rents complemented by the offer price real estate site. Survey contained category of flats 1+1 and 1+kk, 2+1 and 2+kk, 3+1 and 3+kk. I found that the first area of the historic center by the selected category apartments with rents differs in the interval of 20-35% and in the second area near to the center is in the interval of 9-19%. The main objective of this work is discovery that Prague in terms of rents is more expensive than Brno in both defined areas.

Analysis of the Impact of Location on the Standard Price of Selected Flats in Brno

This diploma thesis deals with the valuation of ten residential units. Valuation is done in three ways: cost and comparative method by price prescription and method of direct comparison. Next, determined the usual price. A conclusion of this work is the analysis of the effect of location on the standard price of selected residential units in Brno.
Construction technological project of the parking object in Brno

The thesis contains the main part of the building and technological project storey car park on the Panenská street in Brno. There is prepared a technical report on the structural and technological project studies the implementation of major technological stages, coordinating construction situation with broder relations roadways, time and financial plan construction, project construction site, design of building machines and mechanisms, the schedule of the main building structure, a plan for securing material resources for monolithic construction, technological regulation for the implementation of horizontal bearing structures, inspection and test plan for horizontal structure, a manual for use of the parking building and an itemized budget.
BUT Technology Transfer Center

The subject of the bachelor's thesis is the design of the BUT Technology Transfer Center. The complex is located in the Brno – Královo Pole district in the area of the BUT Technology Park. In the vicinity, there are the faculties of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and business BUT, as well as student dormitories and the CESA sports field. The land is bordered by roads on the west, north and east sides. On the western side of the property behind the Technická road, there is a uneven park adjacent to the Pod Palackého vrchem Sports Complex. The northern part of the property is also adjacent to the Technical road, behind which there is a grassy area, next to which there is a gardener's settlement. To the east of the property is Kolejní Street, lined with a wall and office and residential buildings located behind it. The southern part of the land is adjacent to the building of the Science and Technology Park of Prof. Lista and the parking area behind which is the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication Technologies. The BUT Technology Transfer Center is a complex of production cells for the needs of BUT students and employees to create mass production conditions for their projects. Adjacent to the production area is a five-story administrative building with a flat vegetated roof. The construction of the building is designed as a reinforced concrete skeleton with a module of 6 m, filled with ceramic masonry around the perimeter and insulated with expanded polystyrene. The shape of the building is a simple block, where the top floor is set back by one module in the southeast area. The administrative building is followed by a three-story garage building embedded in the ground. On the lowest floor of the administrative building, there is an entrance hall, a staircase with an elevator, and hygienic and technological facilities. On the upper floor, a technical room and an entrance hall are designed near the staircase, which is followed by a security service room and sanitary facilities. In the last underground floor, we can find technological facilities and an entrance hall near the stairs, then opposite the stairs is a corridor leading to the hygiene facilities and laboratories. On the first above-ground floor, a showroom, an archive, and a day room are designed on the right side of the corridor, located opposite the staircase. On the left side we will find the sanitary facilities and the warehouse and the maintenance workshop. On the top floor there are offices and a meeting room, by the stairs there is an exit to the outdoor terrace.
Construction Development of Kamenná Čtvrť in Brno

The article describes the development of the construction in former workers' colony Kamenná čtvrť in Brno. It explains the concept of gentrification, describes Kamenná čtvrť and its history. It analyzes the initial construction and its transformation over the years to the present. In the end, it discusses the possibility of development of construction in this type of locality, while it does not aim to propose direct solution but to point out possible direction of development. The methods used were history research, qualitative sociological research using the interview technique and questionnaire survey.
