On Design of Low-Re Airfoils and Aspects of Boundary Layer Control
Popelka, Lukáš ; Müller, M. ; Nožička, J.
The contribution shows results of mutlicriteria design of airfoils. Results of numerical solution of flow field past single element wing sections and with flap are presented, possibilities of flow control are given.
Numerická simulace a vizualizace vytváření syntetizovaného proudu
Trávníček, Zdeněk ; Vogel, Jiří ; Vít, T.
The paper presents the results of numerical and experimental investigations of a synthetic jet generation. The experiments were performed in air by means of flow visualization and hot-wire anemometry. The subsequent numerical simulation was performed using the commercial code FLUENT. The geometry, boundary conditions, and material properties of the numerical simulation were defined according to the real experimental situation.
Numerical Solution of a Fre Shear Layer Flow
Hyhlík, T. ; Uruba, Václav
The non-stationary turbulent flow in a free shear layer behind an infinite back-facing step is modeled using commercial code FLUENT. The URANS equations with the Spalart – Allmaras one-equation turbulence model are applied. The results of numerical simulation are subjected to analysis and compared with those from experiment and literature. Non-stationary structure is characterized by Strouhal number, qualitative agreement has been found.
Coherence analysis of turbulent signals
Uruba, Václav
A method of decomposition of turbulent time series into coherent and non-coherent parts is presented and demonstrated.
Microturbines and Microfluid Dynamics
Dvořák, Rudolf
This is a state-of-the art survey of microfluid dynamics with applications in microturbines, and assessment of the main problems characteristic for this field. Special attention is paid to the friction factor in microflows.
Modelling of turbulent flow in a curved combined diffuser
Příhoda, Jaromír ; Šulc, J. ; Sedlář, M. ; Zubík, P.
The paper deals with experimental and numerical modelling of turbulent flow in a curved combined diffuser formed by bend of constant cross-section, straight spacer, and straight one-sided diffuser. For low Reynolds numbers, the combined diffuser gives lower energy losses than optimised curved diffuser.
Numerická simulace třírozměrného turbulentního proudění s volnou hladinou v zakřiveném kanále
Bodnár, Tomáš ; Příhoda, Jaromír ; Kozel, K.
The paper deals with the numerical simulation of free surface flow in a curved channel. An interface capturing method was chosen for description of the free surface. Numerical simulation was carried out for turbulent flow in a curved channel of square cross-section that was partially filled by water.
