Mathematical Modeling of Natural Gas Consumption in the Case of Residential and Small Commercial Customer

Natural gas consumption of households and small commercial customers is read from gas-meters usually once a year in the Czech republic. Every month a part (approximately 1/12) of customers is read. Hence there's always a certain amount of delivered natural gas which hadn't been invoiced yet. This amount needs to be estimated by a proper estimator. In this paper a nonlinear regression model GAMMA, which was developped in the Institute of Computer Science of AS CR is presented.

Práce se zabývá modifikací Clopper-Pearsonova konfidenčního intervalu pro parametr binomického rozdělení při nulovém nebo plném počtu úspěchů. Ukazuje se, že modifikace, která má stále své přívržence, je nekorektní. Dále jsou připomenuty některé lepší alternativy k nejběžněji používaným typům konfidenčních intervalů.

V příspěvku je pod názvem Johnsonova skórová funkce představena vlivová funkce pravděpodobnostního rozdělení. V případě parametrického rozdělení ji lze chápat jako inferenční funkci, kterou lze použít ke konstrukci charakteristik rozdělení i datových souborů a k modifikaci Raovy vzdálenosti pro testování hypotéz.

Testing hypothesis in general exponential models

The paper concerns the testing hypothesis about parameter in such families of stochastic processes that they have an exponential density with respect to a reference measure. We focus on divergence statistics, particularly so called Renyi statistics. There are examples of testing on the base of Renyi statics for some well known processes.

Gene Expression Data Analysis for in Vitro Toxicology

Microarray analyses have been performed on CD34-progenitor derived dendritic cells that have been exposed to chemical skin sensitizers; allergens (4) and irritants (2). The aim of this work is to identify genes whose expression is affected by exposure to the allergens but not by the irritants. The inference is based on a dataset containing 72 microarrays.
