Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescopes
Jareš, Daniel ; Lédl, Vít ; Rail, Zdeněk
This paper describes analysis of residual aberrations of Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes (SCT). Though SCTs have been produced for 30 years, problem of imaging properties is only rarely discussed. At first we have performed measurement of optical parameters of several commercially produced SCT telescopes of Meade, Celestron and Carl Zeiss Jena, then we have used measured data to construct the models of these system with the help of Zemax program and evaluate residual aberrations. We have found that it is possible to radically improve these systems by changing entry data.
New type of a birefringent barrier element for narrow-band chain filter
Melich, Radek ; Melich, Zbyněk ; Šolc, Ivan ; Klimeš st., J. ; Klimeš ml., J.
It is described a design of an inclination-tunable barrier element that is solved as a Šolc type birefringent filter. The element consists of two subfilters that are built up of oblique cut plates. This oblique cut provides possibility of continuous tuning by an inclination in only one axis. Furthermore, it is described a principle how to get subfilter tuning values so that only the main filter wavelengths is transmitted. It is proved functionality and performance of considered barrier at two wavelengths.
Effects of solar and geomagnetic activity on the occurrence of synoptic situations in Europe
Huth, Radan ; Kyselý, Jan ; Bochníček, Josef ; Hejda, Pavel
Winter months are divided into three classes according to the mean monthly solar F10.7 flux. Within each class, frequencies of occurrence of groups of Hess-Brezowsky synoptic types are calculated.
Comparison of solar and geomagnetic effects on the atmospheric circulation variability modes
Huth, Radan ; Pokorná, Lucie ; Bochníček, Josef ; Hejda, Pavel
The shapes, spatial extent, and intensity of modes of low-frequency variability of atmospheric circulation in the Northern Hemisphere in winter are significantly affected by the phase of the 11-yr solar cycle. Here we extend the analysis to the geomagnetic activity, and compare the results with the solar activity.
Complementary cooperation, the Cardano's world, and the incompletness
Rajchl, Jaroslav
The Cardano’s world (CW) is characterized by the well known phrase about the triadicity of all the good and bad! It contains a cubic nonlinearity (NL) as its mainbase, together with the linear, bilinear and quadratic components (i.e. the positive and negative solutions). All these components are fundamental for its dynamical cooperative and relative stability as a system. But, the relation between its quadratic and cubic (NL) is, as has been shown previously, of paradoxical nature (Rajchl 2006), which is the source of dynamical evolution of (CW). It is shown that such a system is incomplete in the sense, that it evolves behind its relative stability state (dimension 3) to the deterministic chaos.
Chronological aspects of the acute coronary syndrome
Sitar, J. ; Střeštík, Jaroslav ; Kala, P. ; Špinar, J. ; Groch, L. ; Hlinomaz, O. ; Horňáček, I. ; Novák, M. ; Rezek, M. ; Sitar Jr., J. ; Tejc, M.
Daily rates of the direct PCI interventions in acute myocardial infarctions performed on two cardiological clinics in Brno (2004-2006) were analyzed from chronological aspects. They are more frequent in Monday whereas on weekends appears a minimum. They are alsomore frequent on early spring, the minimum is in November.
Analysis of turbulent flow over forested terrain
Potužníková, Kateřina ; Sedlák, Pavel ; Šauli, Petra
The aim of the present study is to assess and describe low-frequency oscillations and coherent structures in temporal series of temperature and wind velocity components sampled at three different levels within the forest (z/h = 0.3, 0.5 and 1, where h is the canopy height). The wavelet transform is used as a basic tool for our analysis. The periods of detected structures depend on the temperature gradient in the canopy, and furthermore seem to vary with the different local circulations regimes.
Weather and tick borne viral encephalitis in the Czech and Slovak Republic
Střeštík, Jaroslav ; Mikulecký, M. ; Mikulecký Jr., M.
Cross-correlation of the annual incidence of tick borne encephalitis (TBE) in the Czech Republic (1965-2003) and Slovak Republic (1980-2004) with some external factors has been evaluated. The increase of the TBE is observed 1-3 years after the year with higher average air temperature. With the global warming the increase of the TBE is observed and they spread more to the North.
Solar spots, flares and geomagnetic activity: related to cerebral stroke?
Střeštík, Jaroslav ; Mikulecký, M.
Monthly numbers of cerebral infarctions dutiny 16 years wereas correlated with monthly values of solar and geomagnetic activity. There is a significant negative correlation between solar/geomagnetic aktivity and the incidence of cerebrál infarctions with a time shift of one year.
Variations with periods near 1.3 year in solar and geomagnetic activity
Střeštík, Jaroslav
The period about 1.3 years, found some time ago in solar wind velocity and in some biological data, is in geomagnetic aktivity prezent only in a short interval after 1990 a in leader extent around 1942. Other periods in the vicinity appear only sporadically and are much weaker. A connection with the solar cycle (even – odd) was not found. In solar acitvity these periods do not appear at all.
