Interaction of Bone an Swanson,s Finger Joint Implant
Kult, Jaroslav
Mechanical analysis of Swanson,s IP joint prosthesis and its interaction with bone based on 3D FE model. The FE model was verified by photoelastic measurement. The checked load cases come out of experiences of surgeons. Both the models show good correspondence and the stresses in the implant are low.
Micromechanical Aspects of Inception of Cracks in Articular Cartilage
Kafka, Vratislav
The inception of cracks that are observed on the surface of articular cartilage is explained by taking into account the microstructure: There are - under the surface - dense collagen fibers lying parallel to the surface of cartilage an orientated in one direction. It is shown that an impact loading can lead to rupture of these fibers and subsequent creation of cracks.
Construction of Mathematical Models for the Finite Element Analysis on Basis of Data Obtained from Computer Tomography
Jiroušek, Ondřej
Algorithms for the construction of mathematical model for the finite element method using the computer tomography scans are shortly described in this paper. The stress analysis of a new type implant used in finger reconstruction surgery was carried out with the help of a model constructed using this algorithm.
Selected Problems of Hip Joint Alloplasty
Jírová, Jitka ; Jíra, J. ; Micka, Michal
The paper deals with the study of interaction of various types of acetabular cups with pelvic bone using 2-D FE models and applying ANSYS programme and by experimental and numerical research of the cementless acetabular cup - Beznoska type using strain gauge measuring and 3-D FE model.
