Evaluation of the efficiency of a pilot ultrafiltration unit

The first part of this bachelor thesis deals with a summary of current knowledge about membrane technologies and their application in drinking water treatment. There are listed different types of membranes and classification of membrane processes. Further on, there are defined operation processes that are related to their use in water treatment plants and there are also listed some of the water treatment plants in the Czech republic, where these technologies were or are still being used. In the second part if this thesis, there is described a situation in a village Poniky, in Slovak republic, which suffers from seasonally increased turbidity on one of their drinking water sources. The owner of the water supply system has an intention of treating this water quality problem by using a membrane technology. This thesis presents and evaluates results from the first membrane tests executed on the affected water source.

Účinnost úpravy vody s využitím membránové filtrace

V prvej časti tejto diplomovej práce sú stručne zhrnuté požiadavky na pitnú vody podľa súčasnej legislatívy platnej na území Českej republiky a Slovenskej republiky. Zároveň sú uvedené ich zmeny, ktoré nastanú implementáciou novej európskej smernice 2020/2184 o kvalite vody určenej na ľudskú spotrebu. Na tieto zmeny nadväzuje potreba aplikácie nových spôsobov úpravy vody, jednými z nich sú membránové technológie. Membránovým technológiám je venovaný zvyšok práce. Najprv sú zhrnuté súčasné poznatky o princípe ich fungovania a kategórie, do ktorých sú rozdelené. Ďalej sú priblížené procesy, týkajúce sa ich údržby. Uvedené sú aj konkrétne príklady úpravní vody v Česku a na Slovensku, kde boli membránové procesy aplikované. Praktická časť práce je zameraná na otestovanie konkrétneho ultrafiltračného membránového modulu v laboratórnych podmienkach. Súčasťou je optimalizácia filtračného procesu a overenie možností odstránenia znečistenia z povrchovej vody. V závere sú vyhodnotené namerané hodnoty.
