Optimization of Precision Seamless Tubes Production
Mikula, Samuel ; Fašková, Andrea (oponent) ; Videcká, Zdeňka (vedoucí práce)
Theme of my final bachelor thesis is optimization of precision seamless tubes production. The thesis covers overall analysis of the company and current state of production processes at given production hall. Thesis also describes material flow through whole production process. In conclusion there are described suggestions to optimise and to improve efficiency of production.
Study of the Creation of the Concept of Warehouse Management Using Additive Technologies
Mikula, Samuel ; Štefánek, Radoslav (oponent) ; Jurová, Marie (vedoucí práce)
The aim of this thesis is to optimize warehouse items and materials in the warehouse of spare parts of Slovak railways company with the use of additive technology. The thesis is divided into three parts – theoretical, analytical, propositional part. The first part focuses on the theoretical background of additive manufacturing and its materials as well as warehouse management and stocks within the company. The analytical part aims on analysis of the company with chosen methods. Its main target is to identify spare parts, which are suitable for the production by eligible 3D printer and appropriate material. During the analysis of every part the properties, additive technology, price, and distributors were defined. In the last, propositional part, are presented two ways, how company can get an output out of additive technology to gain financial benefit and optimize its warehouses.
Air pollution and migration: exploiting a natural experiment from the Czech Republic
Mikula, Š. ; Pytliková, Mariola
This paper examines the causal effects of air pollution on migration by exploiting a natural experiment in which desulfurization technologies were rapidly implemented in coal-burning power plants in the Czech Republic in the 1990s. These technologies substantially decreased air pollution levels without per se affecting economic activity. The results based on a difference-in-differences estimator imply that improvements in air quality reduced emigration from previously heavily polluted municipalities by 24%. We find that the effect of air pollution on emigration tended to be larger in municipalities with weaker social capital and fewer man-made amenities. Thus, our results imply that strengthening social capital and investing in better facilities and public services could partially mitigate depopulation responses to air pollution. Finally, we look at heterogeneous migratory responses to air pollution by education and age and find some evidence that the more educated tend to be more sensitive to air pollution in their settlement behavior.
