Involvement of Ukrainian pupils to primary school teaching

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of the involvement of Ukrainian pupils of the first level of primary school in the educational system of Czech schools. The thesis focuses mainly on pupils who come to Czech primary schools because of the Russian-Ukrainian war conflict. The aim of the thesis is to identify the situations and ways in which these pupils engage in education and then to analyze the factors that influence their engagement. The theoretical section introduces the reader to the basic theoretical background. The first chapters are devoted to defining key terms and current legislation related to the education of Ukrainian pupils. The following chapters describe the process that pupils from Ukraine go through when they are enrolled in education. The theoretical part of the thesis concludes with a chapter exploring the possibilities of supporting Ukrainian pupils arising from the relevant legislation. The practical part of the thesis is based on a multiple case study of four selected primary schools, which aims to describe the situations and ways in which pupils from Ukraine are involved in education in the selected schools.
