This thesis is concerned with realization of a set of drama education classes based on a particular literary work of the fantasy genre, namely C.S.Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew. The lessons are designed with respect to the moral values expressed by Lewis in his book with the intention to acquaint its young readers with basic concepts of Christianity. Pupils are introduced to those values by means of various drama education methods and techniques, with the overall aim of aiding the pupils in creating a set of values of their own, drawing on both their personal experience and the newly gained knowledge.
Fantasy as a Resource for Drama Education Lesson
Zelená, Markéta ; MARUŠÁK, Radek (advisor) ; ULRYCHOVÁ, Irina (referee)
This thesis focuses on the genre of fantasy and its potential as a resource in drama education, exploring it both theoretically on basis of academic sources as well as practically by means of several self-constructed individual lesson plans aimed at internal group development. These lesson plans are based on three works of fiction: J. R. R. Tolkien's The Hobbit, or There and Back Again, J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series and N. Gaiman's Stardust. All of the drama lessons presented in the paper are graded according to their target participants' age, difficulty levels of the drama methods they comprise and/or degree of the particular lesson's interconnectedness with the original story. Additionally, each of the lessons is written with different objectives in mind, focusing predominantly on aims within the scope of drama education and personal and social education, as well as those of literature study. The lesson plans were implemented in drama lessons with elementary school pupils of varying ages (6-14 years) and evaluated in the form of detailed written reflections.
Evaluation of Efficiency and Effectiveness of Services Provided in Low-threshold Facilities for Children and Youth
ZELENÁ, Markéta
Low-threshold facilities for children and youth are a relatively new and still evolving service. The efficiency and effectiveness of this particular service have not been significantly surveyed yet. Therefore, in this thesis Evaluation of Efficiency and Effectiveness of Services Provided in Low-threshold Facilities for Children and Youth, I tried to outline theoretical aspects of this issue and to compare them with practice. The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of services in selected low-threshold facilities for children and youth with regard to proven facts and to suggest proceedings that would lead to an overall improvement and higher effectiveness of social services. Based on the research conducted by a questionnaire survey in clients of selected low-threshold facilities for children and youth, and by the secondary analysis of the data obtained in these facilities, I tried to suggest ideas that would lead to more effective provision of services in individual facilities surveyed. In the theoretical part emphasis is placed on the issue of efficiency and effectiveness in facilities providing social services. Furthermore, attention is focused on the description of low threshold facilities for children and youth as an organization providing social services, the legislative base of these facilities, the mission, goals and services through which the mission has been carried out. The main outcomes of the thesis are based on a detailed elaboration of the issue of efficiency and effectiveness of low-threshold facilities for children and youth, and a proposition of procedures which could be used to improve services in surveyed facilities to get closer to clients to meet their needs. The outcomes of the thesis presented in practice can also serve as an inspiration for other facilities of a similar character to evaluate and improve the efficiency of services provided.
Legal regulation of misdemeanor proceedings and problems with its application
ZELENÁ, Markéta
The proceedings is a topical and developing component of the state administration. This is the reason why I decided to deal with the issue in my thesis. I refer to theoretical aspects of some phases of proceedings and compare them to the practical ones. The objective of my thesis Legal regulation of misdemeanor proceedings and problems with its application was to conduct a survey of current legal regulation of one of special legal proceedings {--}fine proceedings. The form of fine proceeding is often used in legal proceedings. One of the objectives of my thesis was to suggest possible alterations to current regulation of legal proceedings. The reseearch I conducted was aimed at proposing recommendations of some alterations to legal regulation of legal proceedings. The research was carried out by the interview method with the senior Police officers and Municipal police officers in Ústí nad Labem. I also used the secondary data analysis technique. I analysed statistical data from all district departments of the Police of the Czech Republic in Ústí nad Labem in 2007. In the theoretical section the term legal offence (misdemeanor) is defined because not any behaviour with signs of a legal offence is always classified as the legal offence. Some substantive legal questions related to legal proceedings are dealt with in this section. The issue of the legal proceeding and some phases of it were mapped. The suggestions mentioned to complete some phases of the legal proceeding could be a useful contribution to legal problems solving. As the main achieved results we can consider a survey of some parts of misdemeanor proceedings and suggestions for implementation of some new rules in various phases of misdemeanor proceedings into the existing legal regulation.
