Construction of estimates of interregional commodity flows by using gravity model
Kieslichová, Kateřina ; Zbranek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Sixta, Jaroslav (referee)
The aim of my thesis is the construction of estimates of interregional commodity flows for the regions of the Czech Republic, by using a gravity model. Gravity model is based on Newton's law of gravitation. Gravity models can be used in two different information contexts. The first is an information context, when the spatial interaction flows are known a priori, and the model is used to explain the trade flows' behaviour. And the second is an information context in which these interactions are totally unknown a priori and the flows must be estimated. This paper is focused on the second information context. When we estimating commodity flows we need to know the value of exports and imports for individual regions. Estimated interregional commodity flows are the results of this work. Estimated interregional flows are put into the regional input-output tables compiled by the Department of Economic Statistics. Regional input-output tables are arranged so as to reached the equality of resources and use. On the basis of the resulting tables for all regions, I conducted a input-output analysis. Input-output analysis examines the impact of model changes to investment on selected commodities, to estimated interregional flows and selected macroeconomic indicators.
Social groups of households in the Czech Republic compared with other countries of the European Union
Havrila, Lukáš ; Zbranek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Musil, Petr (referee)
In this bachelor thesis I am deal with households and lay stress on variety of social groups in these households. The aim of bachelor thesis is to research and compare structure of individual social groups of households, their income and expenditure, too. In the theoretical part I describe mainly basic concepts, such as economic household, national accounting, EU-SILC, income and expenditure of households. In the practical part I am compare indicators between social groups within the Czech Republic or the European Union. Beneficial is examining the dependence of the average equivalised net household income per 1 person per year in the country surveyed by EU-SILC on the one hand. And spending on household final consumption calculated at 1 person per year surveyed by national accounts of each country on the other hand.
The Construction and Use of the Time Input-Output Tables in context of the Semi-dynamic Input-Output Model
Zbranek, Jaroslav ; Fischer, Jakub (advisor) ; Hronová, Stanislava (referee) ; Rojíček, Marek (referee)
The aim of the dissertation thesis is to develop a methodology of the compilation of symmetric Time Input-Output tables under the conditions of the Czech Republic. The following aim is to create an input-output model which is based on the compiled symmetric Time Input-Output tables. For the practical applications of this model it is crucial to link the created Input-Output model with the Semi-Dynamic Input-Output model. Semi-Dynamic Input-Output model in the conception of the submitted dissertation thesis takes into account several multiplier effects and presents more comprehensive tool for the use of the Input-Output analyses in this way. The first chapter focuses on the development of the issues linked to the Input-Output tables and analyses on the territory of the Czech Republic and in the world as well. The second chapter which is also theoretical is focused on mapping of different kinds of Input-Output analyses which are done in the world using Physical, Time or Hybrid Input-Output tables. The third chapter is a purely methodological because here it is described the methodology of the compilation of symmetric Time Input-Output tables as well as methodological approach to the various sensitivity analyses. The fourth chapter focuses on the creation Semi-Dynamic Input-Output model and on the formal linking with the Input-Output model based on the Time Input-Output tables. The last fifth chapter is focused analytically. Methods described in the third chapter are applied on the official published data on the Czech economy. The analytical chapter is perceived in the submitted dissertation thesis as a tool for the sensitivity analysis in the sense of validation of the quality of the compiled Time Input-Output tables.
Demographic factors of economic growth
Fabiánová, Jana ; Sixta, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Zbranek, Jaroslav (referee)
Development of the economic situation in recent years raises number of issues, including defining what are the factors of this development and whether it is possible to affect them. This thesis deals with the demographic factors of economic growth; those are factors associated with general population and factors which may have an impact on the country's economy. The main aim of this work is to precisely identify the demographic factor and analyze their development in the Czech Republic since the early 1990s to the present days. Furthermore, the economic development is analyzed along with the indicators of economic activity in sorting by various demographic factors. The analysis of the employment in the construction industry was conducted in regard to demographic and economic indicators. To illustrate the results of the analysis column, line and pie charts were used in addition to the figures in the tables.
The historical development of the system input-output tables in the territory of the Czech republic
Kieslichová, Kateřina ; Zbranek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Sixta, Jaroslav (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to describe the historical development of the system input-output tables in the Czech Republic. The first part is focused on important personalities who influenced the development of the system input-output tables, the historical development of national accounting standards in terms of input-output tables and also the construction and use of input-output tables. The second part focuses on the practical use of symmetric input-output tables. Includes general formulas, which are calculated according to various analyzes. In this part the simple input-output analysis examines the scenario increased investment in construction products using symmetric input-output tables compiled according to different standards.
Social climate analysis in the manufacturing company
Čermáková, Věra ; Němec, Otakar (advisor) ; Zbranek, Jaroslav (referee)
The thesis deals with the issue of employees' satisfaction with individual areas of their work. The theoretical part describes the reasons for opinion ascertaining and factors influencing employee satisfaction and motivation. There are also listed the methods of employee satisfaction surveys and the approaches to statistical analysis of data from questionnaire surveys. The practical part is focused on the social climate analysis in the specific manufacturing company in areas such as remuneration, communication, work organization, teamwork, career growth, learning and development and other. The data analysis is based on categorial data analysis including detection of dependence in between individual answers and classification of employees, mainly by sex, age, department and position. For each area, there is a recommendation for the company management.
The impact of expenditures on research and development on estimates of macroeconomic aggregates and on the relationship between the budgets of the Czech republic and the EU
Zbranek, Jaroslav ; Fischer, Jakub (advisor) ; Vondráčková, Veronika (referee)
The thesis deals with the statistics of research and development and focuses on possible effects of considered capitalization of R&D expenses. The opening part is devoted to statistical investigations in the R&D area to provide an overview of data base. Subsequently, the specific suggested methodological changes in the international ESA standard and related changes in the national accounting system are introduced, including the description of current practices. In the main part, the impacts of the capitalization on the main macroeconomic aggregates and Maastricht criteria fulfilling are presented on the real Czech Republic data. In the final section, possible impact on the contributions of the Czech Republic to the EU budget are shown, along with international comparisons describing impacts on all member states in the context of the EU budget financing. The aim of the comparison is to show whether capitalization is beneficial or not for the individual member states.
