The dissertation thesis studies the extension of the context of the term model as a means of interpretation for Czech and Slovak post-conceptual works of art. Based on result of a historical excursion into the history of painting, sculpture and architecture, the thesis offers a new typology of a model which is exemplified on particular work of art of Czech and Slovak post-conceptual era in the first two decades of the 21st century. The historical part of the thesis concludes the following: model in the art is an emancipated form originating from different academic as well as layman discourse; emancipated model has a methaphorical layer and thus it reflects wide historical, cultural and social relations. The categories proposed include: a linear model, a physical model, a cognitive model and an immersive model. The linear model encompases the sketch themes and so-called visualization metaphors (graphs, charts, schemes, etc) and originates as a reaction to information saturation and complicated networks. The physical model is a form to architecture and hobby modelling, it is characterised by a simple, „sketchy“ structure reacting to social themes and individual and collective memory. The cognitive model points to the cognitive turn of the society, it evaluates the materialisation of mental space and explains the emancipated model as an open category. Finally, the immersive model interprets the medium of exhibition as a model form which is articulated by and artisitic manifesto or an architectural interference. Another form of immersion that is being discussed in the chapter about immersive models, is a photographic or 3 D computer illusion as a reaction to society‘s virtualisation. Simultaneously to theoretical-historical research, an artistic research was taking place which became the basis for the creation of different categories and typologies of model. Each proposed category thus includes a so-called author‘s note reflecting the practical part of the dissertation thesis.

I deal with the production process of the painting base. I created a custom folding system already stretched canvas, which can reduce its size. On the other hand, this folding formed procesual abstract paintings on the surface of the canvas. Finally I created installation (5 white canvases, of which only one can be folded, but this one is indistinguishable from the others), which I complete with the documented research in previous paintings.
Phenomenon of the Sea. The Sea as Photographed and Described in Selected Art Forms
Kotzmannová, Alena ; Fulková, Marie (advisor) ; Hník, Ondřej (referee) ; Zahoranský, Dušan (referee)
Title: The Phenomenon of the Sea - the Sea as Photographed and Described in Selected Art Forms Author: Alena Kotzmannová Department: Art Education Department / specialization in pedagogy Supervisor: doc. PhDr. Marie Fulková, Ph.D. Abstract: Man's relationship to the sea is one of the basic subjects of artistic inspiration throughout history. Without us being directly aware of it, it is a constant but at the same time changeable part of our being. The sea is an important cultural point of reference and a rich symbol. The subject of The Phenomenon of the Sea - Photography and the Description of the Sea in Selected Art Forms has thus been consciously chosen in reference to the individual imagination. In the chapters entitled Work 1-7, I present my artistic and pedagogical works from the years 2009-2013, along with descriptions of their origins and genesis. These also include references to a "portfolio diary" and endnotes. The text follows a multidirectional mental trajectory, and the chosen form of overlapping layers combines various contexts: instead of a linear reading, it thus invites the reader to move freely through the text. The chapter Research works with source materials such as student interviews collected during the ...
The Phenomenon of Architecture in One's Own Art and Pedagogical Work (Pedagogical Implications)
Gajdošíková, Pavla ; Fulková, Marie (advisor) ; Géringová, Jitka (referee) ; Zahoranský, Dušan (referee)
Pavla Gajdošíková: The Phenomenon of Architecture in One's Own Art and Pedagogical Work (Pedagogical Implications) Abstract: The dissertation looks at the perception of architecture and space in art and explores the possible uses of artistic and reflective processes in learning situations involving students of art education. It is based on ongoing public discussions regarding architecture's influence on the perception of the environment and the associated quality of life of each and every one of us. Thematically, it follows on the author's cycle of artworks titled Subjective Urbanism, which explored the subject using various artistic media. The dissertation makes use of a/r/tography, a methodology that offers a way of understanding a subject of research from three different perspectives (artist, teacher, researchers), thus enabling complementarily structured learning in "interspace." Metaphorically speaking, the subject of architecture and space is approached as an intertwining of these three identities. This also the paper's triadic structure. In the first part, the author introduces the subject at hand through her own works of art, a reflection of which formed the starting point for her subsequent inquiries. In the second part, she uses several case studies to describe three pedagogical projects aimed at...
