Single Atomic Catalysts
Závodný, Adam ; Švec,, Martin (referee) ; Čechal, Jan (advisor)
Single atom catalysts are prospective class of materials, which holds promises to reach the ultimate limit of improvement in catalyst performance, selectivity, lifetime and cost reduction. The ability to efficiently capture the adsorbates at the active sites is the key prerequisite for catalytic transformation to the products. In this respect, our experimental study aims to describe the interaction of gas molecules (H2O, CO, O2 and NO) with single metal atoms (Rh, Ir, Cu) on the magnetite surface employing scanning tunneling microscopy.
Preparation and characterization of samples for a study on the effect of surface plasmon polaritons on island growth on surfaces
Závodný, Adam ; Kolíbal, Miroslav (referee) ; Čechal, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with preparation and analysis of cobalt thin films and determination of the thermal stability of Al2O3/Au/SiO2/Si multilayer. The films are formed on the crystalline silicon with oxide surface layer, i.e. SiO2/Si(111) and Al2O3/SiO2/Si(111). Thin films are prepared using an effusion cell and their growth is studied as a function of substrate temperature, type and layer thickness. Prepared samples are studied by the X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy and Atomic Force Microscopy.
Socioekonomické charakteristiky obcí bez obchodů s potravinami
Závodný, Adam
Within this work, a socioeconomic analysis of a selected set of municipalities without grocery stores was carried out for the period of 2002, 2012 and 2019. The analysis focuses on defining the patterns leading to the decline of stores in rural settlements. Using the selected socioeconomic indicators, specific reasons were formulated that could have caused the decrease of grocery stores in the studied set of municipalities. Source of the data was Czech statistical office. The results were also presented in the space for the reason revealing regularities that may not have been affected in the data.
