Vrubleuskaya, Hanna ; Stuchlíková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Střecha, Michal (referee)
This thesis focuses on the problem of hikikomori in Japanese society. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the negative influence on Japan's future. In this paper I will focus mainly upon economic and social indicators. In the first part of this paper I introduce the definition of the problem and its features. Next I analyze reasons for the hikikomori condition -- reasons connected with the psychological state of young people in Japanese, the changes on the labor market and the economic situation of the late 1990s. In the third part I will investigate and compare cases of hikikomori outside of Japan. The second chapter describes the influence of hikikomori on the economic and social sector in Japan and introduces forms of social support and measures taken to deal with the problem.
