The work is divided into three parts, the first of which deals with the emergence of the Pardubice racecourse, the second is devoted to the racetrack in the United Chuchle and the last focuses on Napajedla Stud. Each chapter is written the history of the body and the subsequent derivation of the social context as was the fashion, the status of women in racing, the creation of new jobs or the formation of a new type of man. The main goal of the work is to uncover racing sport as a social phenomenon but also a conglomerate of institutions that cannot be separated. Without Stud in Napajedla would hardly ensure a supply of quality horses and without the Great Pardubice and its traditions through the nobility would be difficult to create a racecourse in Great Chuchle. The work is not focused on one-sided description of the races, but understanding the issue overall. Many works dealing with the environment ignores the coherence races, and social aspects of this sport. In the examples of fashion, organizing auctions or race meeting as shown on the one hand were the elite races and issues on the other hand, created new space for entertainment and for entrepreneurs.
Specificity of nursing members of the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints.
VOTAVOVÁ, Šárka
Particularities of nursing care for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints This work deals with the issue of multicultural care because this topic is very relevant at present. It is probable for the staff of health-care facilities to meet members of minorities more and more frequently. To provide high-quality nursing care, the needs must be known and the cultural and the religious differences of members of other minorities must be respected. The nurse provides nursing care adapted to specific needs of minority members on the base of the ascertained data. This work is focused on the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who are called "Mormons". The goal of the work was to find out the particularities of provision of nursing care to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Further to map the approach to health and the particularities of life style of the members of that Church. Interviews with the Church members were made in order to give a thorough picture of the relevant issue. The second part of the research investigation was focused on nurses. We ascertained whether the nurses knew the issue of multicultural nursing and whether they knew the particularities of provision of care to the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In order to obtain a base for solution of the above stated tasks, a questionnaire was elaborated. 94 respondents took part in the questionnaire inquiry. The research showed lack of the nurses{\crq} knowledge on the given issue. That results in the finding that it would be suitable to deepen the nurses' interest in the relevant issue. Special nursing care will be culturally adequate and better acceptable for the Church members. The nurses{\crq} training will lead to increasing quality of nursing care. The goal of this work was to unify the information on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The research showed that the Church members were satisfied with the care provided. In spite of that, more interest and respect to their religion by health care workers would be appropriate.
The role of nurse as regards the need of alimentation and hydratation of long-term patients
VOTAVOVÁ, Šárka
The need of nourishment and hydration are among the most basic physiological needs. An individual cannot be satisfied without the fulfillment of these needs. A healthy individual eats and drinks according to his needs. However, a long-term ward patient or an old person experiences a decreased need for nutrition and hydration. These patients must therefore be continually offered food and drink. A sick person often feels ashamed to ask favors from others. An unwritten rule states therefore, that a long-term lying patient should be offered a drink every time he is passed by. Here, nurses play an important part. Two aims were settled. (1) Find out how important nurses are to the long-term lying patient and his need of nutrition. (2) Find out how important nurses are to the long-term lying patient and his need of hydration Further, two hypotheses were set: H 1: Nurses take an active part in supplying the need of nutrition of the long-term lying patients. H 2: Nurses take an active part in supplying the need of hydration of the long-term lying patients. A structured questionnaire was chosen as the means of collecting data from nurses, while patients were questioned directly through an inquiry. Nurses included in this work come from long-term wards and elderly wards in České Budějovice, Písek, Strakonice and Horažďovice. The inquiry involved eighty long-term lying patients. It was presumed that the nurses play an irreplaceable part in supplying the patients with nutrition and hydration. These presumptions were inferred by this work. From the obtained results it is clear that nurses are very important for the needs of the patients. The aims and hypotheses were proved by both the nurses and the patients. This does not necessarily mean though, that the care offered to the patient could not be further improved. An active exchange of experience among the nursing establishments, concerning even the easiest issues such as nourishment and hydration in patients is highly recommended. The results of this work were already noticed and required by the head-nurses of wards in hospitals in České Budějovice and Písek.
