Research contacts between Bohemia and Moravia. Contribution to the mutual cooperation of Innocenc Ladislav Červinka and Kliment Čermák

Kliment Čermák, the archaeologist and museum curator in Čáslav, established and during his lifetime maintained relatively abundant contacts with a number of personalities from the Moravian archaeological community. The contribution provides a partial overview of these contacts with individual researchers, especially with Innocenc Ladislav Červinka, while is primarily based on the preserved correspondence and manuscripts stored as part of Čermák's estate in the Literary Archive of the Museum of Czech Literature in Prague, the Archive of the Municipal Museum and Library in Čáslav and the State District Archive in Kutná Hora. The contribution also includes the information about the mutual publication of texts on the pages of the periodicals of the Museum and Patriotic Society „Včela Čáslavská“, the Patriotic Museum Society in Olomouc and the Moravian Archaeological Club.

Tuto práci bylo určitě možno napsat na mnoha místech jinak, zcela jistě lépe a často také více do hloubky. Nepopírám, že řady vytčených cílů bylo dosaženo pouze částečně a některé otázky zůstaly dokonce nezodpovězeny, přesto si ale myslím, že práce jako celek svůj základní účel splnila. Výsledky archeologického výzkumu často svojí nekonkrétností svádí ke spekulaci. V takovém případě jsem se vždy snažil o co možná nejserióznější přístup, který by bral ohled na všechny možné varianty řešení. Jestliže jsem byl nucen formulovat konkrétní závěry, pokoušel jsem se je podat vždy tak, aby bylo zřejmé, jaké důvody mne ke konečnému rozhodnutí vedly. Netvrdím, že výsledky, k nimž jsem při práci dospěl, odrážejí nějakou historickou pravdu a jsou tak jediné možné. Jsem si vědom, že jiný badatel může mít na věc odlišný názor, a budu proto rád za každou věcnou připomínku ke způsobu provedení i výsledkům mého dosavadního výzkumu. Čtenáři se pak dodatečně omlouvám, za všechny případné chyby, které v práci najde, a které padají pouze a jen na mou hlavu.

The archaeological excavations with the early mediaeval component in Kutná Hora region in 2004-2006

The article is a brief summary of results of the minor archaeological excavations in years 2004-2006 in the territory of Kutná Hora district with the evidence of settlement or burial activities dated to the Early Middle ages. In addition to description of the respective excavations find contexts, the text provides also the fundamental registration of acquired material. A certain part of the article is dedicated to the insertion of acquired knowledge in the current concept of Early Medieval region settlement and to the comparison of the distinct finds with similar material from other localities.

The summary of results of the present archaeological excavations in the area of the Cistercian cloister in Sedlec by Kutná Hora

The article is a brief summary of results of the rescue archaeological excavations near the convent church of the Assumption of Virgin Mary in the area of the Cistercian convent in Sedlec by Kutná Hora in years 2004-2008. The author focuses mainly on two new discoveries, which are crucial for the building history, concretely on the coin depot containing Prague Gross of Václav II. and Jan Lucemburský, dating the completion of the chapels in the east side of the convent church to the 2nd decade of 14th century at the latest, and on the partial uncovering of so far unregistered building, with high probability an older Romanesque convent church.
