Řešení protierozní ochrany na modelovém projektu komplexní pozemkové úpravy
VALENTA, David
This thesis addresses the issue of erosion protection in a model comprehensive land consolidation. At the beginning of the thesis the theoretical part is described, which deals with the land consolidation itself, soil erosion as such and last but not least with pro-erosion measures. In the next part of this thesis the area of interest Svojšice u Sušice is described with all the conditions that concern the area. Furthermore, the long-term average soil loss on individual soil blocks is calculated using the universal equation according to Wischmeier and Smith. In the last part of the thesis, anti-erosion measures are proposed, namely organizational and agrotechnical.
Porovnání nejnovějších metod pro výpočty vodní eroze
VALENTA, David
The content of this bachelor thesis is an explanation that focuses on erosion, especially water erosion. The introductory part explains water erosion, its origin, the consequence of water erosion and possible anti-erosion measures, which can suppress this type of erosion or at least reduce its impact. The main purpose of this bachelor thesis is to compare the available procedures for calculating water erosion. In this work, the methods of average annual land removal and other selected models are presented, which serve as a basis for calculating the immediate land removal. The primary methods for calculating the average annual soil distribution include the USLE and RUSLE methods. In this work, only the most available models were selected to assess the calculation of the instantaneous soil removal.
Determinants of Technical Efficiency and its Change among Ghanaian Cocoa Farmers
Valenta, David ; Janský, Petr (advisor) ; Břízová, Pavla (referee)
This thesis analyses determinants of technical efficiency (TE), its change and scale efficiency on an unbalanced panel of more than 700 Ghanaian cocoa farmers collected between 2004 and 2010. Using variable returns to scale data envelopment analysis the TE scores are obtained and the mean TE found is 35.4%. In second stage, random effects Tobit regression is used to investigate the determinants of efficiency and number of significant determinants is found from categories of farmers' characteristics, different technical specifications of the farm, focus on farming, farm management style and investments. Moreover, this thesis contributes to the efficiency debate by researching determinants of efficiency change, finding gender and savings to have significant positive effect among others.

It follows especially the course and consequences of the crisis in Czechoslovakia. There are still many questions about this event and economists of whole world have never agreed on the only explanation, which could describe and solve all the causes and circumstances of Great Depression. In addition, there are also many views that the crisis had influence not only in economic sphere, but also had the social and political impacts. First part deals with international connections of Great Depression and searches causations of crisis in economic theory and describes the birth of Great Depression in United States. Second and third parts analyze the beginning and running of the crisis in Czechoslovakia and deal with particular sections of economy. The fourth part summaries economic and political effects of the crisis in Czechoslovakia and shows how the country faced up to depression.
