3D as a Justified Means of Shifting the Meaning of Film
Toulová, Eva ; BENDOVÁ, Helena (advisor) ; VALAK, Radim (referee)
In my thesis I deal with theoretical analysis: 3D as a Justified Means of Shifting the Meaning of Film. I deal with 3D movies employing the third dimension as a necessary and essential part of the artistic concept which has a demonstrable significance in shifting the meaning of the work and thus makes the method of 3D filming into a legitimate means of artistic intent. If transferred to the 2D dimension, these films would not "work" to the same effect, their meaning would be changed or even lost, or perhaps they would not be created at all - namely: Pina by Wim Wenders, Heart Beat by Jan Nemec, and Cave of Forgotten Dreams by Werner Herzog.
