Elementary school admission

The thesis analyzes the problematics of the elementary school admission. In the theoritical part, it defines opinions of the experts on this topic, it is concerned with the question of school maturity and the topics which are connected with it. It is considered both a point of view from the Czech republic and from abroad (Finland). The aim of the empiric part is to find out how the parents perceive the problematics of the admission to school, what is their evaluation of the school attended by their children and which problems they have to deal with in comparison with their expectations before. Key words: School maturity, preschool children, preschool children diagnostics, school attendance, registration to school, school attendance postponement, pedagogical and psychological intervention.
