Suchánková, P.: Biological activity of plant metabolites XIV. Alkaloids of Papaver somniferum L. and their activity to acetylcholinesterase. Diploma thesis, Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Department of Pharmaceutical Botany and Ecology, Hradec Králové 2010, 57 pages. Within the screening of plants containing alkaloids potentially inhibiting human erythrocytic AChE and human butyrylcholinesterase was studied poppy (Papaver somniferum L) It was used 30 kg of poppy straw, basic extract was prepared by extraction of 95% alcohol. From this primary extract were prepared extracts with individual types of alkaloids by sequent procedue. In this diploma thesis only one extract was processed (extract type A-ether, pH 9 - 10). Alkaloids from this extract were separated into bases, where its chlorides are soluble and insoluble in chloroform. From each of above mentioned fractions phenolic and non-phenolic alkaloids has been obtained. In this work were separated alkaloids from extact AC1 (chlorides soluble in chloroform, non-phenolic. From this mixture was isolated narcotine by the using of column chromatography on alumina and preparative TLC on silica. This compound has been preliminary identified according to data of MS, melting point, optical rotary and by comparison with standard...
Biological activity of plant metabolites II. Screening of alkaloid plants on human cholinesterases inhibition

Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmaceutical Botany and Ecology Candidate: Mgr. Petra Suchánková Consultant: Doc. RNDr. Lubomír Opletal, CSc. Title of Rigorous Thesis: Biological activity of plant metabolites II. Screening of alkaloid plants on human cholinesterases inhibition. The extracts of selected plants, which were expected to have an effect on brain tissue metabolism, were subjected to the screening of their biological activity. Summary ethanol (S) and ethylacetate (B) extracts were prepared by suitable method from various morphological parts of plants: Argemone ochroleuca Sweet (root), Argemone platyceras Link et Otto (root), Argemone grandiflora Sweet (root), Corydalis cava (L.) Schweigg. et Koerte (herb), Fumaria officinalis L. (herb), Papaver argemone L. (herb without fruits), Papaver argemone L. (capsules), Papaver rhoeas L. (capsules), Papaver rhoeas L. (flower), Papaver rhoeas L. (flower + herb). The process was based on the extraction of dry material by 95% ethanol, evaporation (S), and subsequent solution of the extracts (S) in diluted HCl, filtration, alkalization on pH 9-10,5 and extraction of alkaloid bases by ethylacetate (B). Both types of extracts were subjected to the determination of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and...

The thesis is focused on fair tuition fees. It tries to explore more profoundly all the possible factors, which could be considered as important during the measuring benefits of higher education. Among these factors we can find p.e. Labour market success rate, unemployment and income level of graduates in employment. The other main theme of this thesis is the current situation concerning the funding of higher education in the Czech Republic and other EU countries. The issue of tuition fee is currently very actual and it is clear that proper financial cost analysis of studies and the possibilities of measuring return on investment in tertiary education are more than important. Therefore I present existing possibilities to measure return on investment and also to the following possibilities how to include and use the unemployment rate of graduates.
Men vs. women - comparative analysis with using selected statistical data

The goal of the work is to ascertain the structure of employment in the Czech Republic in 2008 and its evolution from 1993 to 2008. And whether in the country, there is discrimination in pay between men and women. The introductory chapter describes some basic concepts relating to employment and other gender concepts further describes the types of data collection (survey) and classification according to which sort the data obtained. In the second, analytical part, the focus is on finding employment structure, its development over the past fifteen years, and the effect it can have on wage differences. In conclusion, the assessment of the situation of discrimination in the Czech Republic
