The Integrated Communication Model Paradigm

Summarizing the thesis in a brief manner demands reduction of the thoughts and concepts presented in it. Therefore, the main aim of this summary is to relate the terminology we had to establish in our theoretical research of communication from a system-theory perspective. We have built our approach in three main directions: 1. Dynamical system theory with its regards to autopoiesis, enthropy and bifurcations. 2. Second-order cybernetics, where we have adopted the concept of mutual influence between object and subject in research - meta-cybernetics. 3. Adressing social theories presented by Niklas Luhmann, Ulrich Beck, Anthony Giddens, Zygmunt Bauman and few others. The central question of our project is whether the application of the system approach to communication studies could lead to a paradigm. During the period of our MA degree programme, we encountered many attempts to connect communication models into one working mechanism. However, even with its terminology adjusted to the goal, media and communication science preserved a notion of structuralism or succeeded to incorporate system theory in just one field of interest (depending on authors' qualifications), but denying wider associations.
