The Household of Maria Theresia of Schwarzenberg in the Middle of the 18th Century

The thesis deals with the household of Maria Theresia of Schwarzenberg, born of Liechtenstein, in the first half of the 18th century. Based on an analysis of a rich set of previously unutilised written sources - especially the written calendar from 1742 to 1744 - the author tried to reconstruct the household of the aforementioned noblewomen. The attention is paid not only to the composition of her court, but also to her religious patronage, which represented one of the highest items in the budget of every nobleman in the early modern society. Furthermore, the reconstruction of the material equipment of the household of Maria Theresia of Schwarzenberg will also be of interest, which reflected her noble and social status. The author likewise focused on the noble amusements.
The wedding of Jan Kristian of Eggenberg and Marie Arnoštka of Schwarzenberg in 1666

This bachelor thesis deals with the wedding of Jan Kristian of Eggenberg and Marie Arnoštka, born of Schwarzenberg, which took place on 21 February 1666 in Vienna. The thesis focuses on the preparation and the course of the wedding merriment of the descendants of two influential magnates of the Imperial Vienna's Court - Jan Antonin of Eggenberg and Jan Adolf of Schwarzenberg. Based on the analysis of a rich set of unutilised written sources, the author tried to reconstruct and interpret the wedding festivity in the aristocratic society in the second half of the 17th century. The attention is paid not only to the food supplying such a spectacular event in the early modern society, but also to the varied composition of the wedding menu, servants and likewise the support staff. Furthermore, the material procuring of the wedding will also be of interest, which reflected the noble and social status of its organizers.
Educational work with a trauma in child's early age

This diploma thesis is conceived as theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part has two objectives. The first of these objectives is to explore options to help the surviving siblings in the family and society. The second objective is to describe the principles of educational work with traumatized children. This work introduces the specifics of early age and possible consequences of acting trauma in this life period. It outlines briefly the development of frequency of children's mortality and it considers whether death pertains among the taboos of the postmodern society. There are described manifestations of grief and mourning and factors, which determine the ability to accept a bereavement of a loved one. The findings are used to formulate the principles of education of the traumatized children. The practical part contains five case studies that provide information about factors which affected the lives of the surviving siblings.
