Use of tools and methods of management accounting in formulation and implementation of a project company’s strategy

The thesis "Use of tools and methods of management accounting in formulation and implementation of a project company's strategy" describes the tools and methods of managerial accounting which project-oriented companies should use in strategy formulation and its subsequent implementation. The theoretical part focuses on the description of methods and tools of strategic management and the ways to implement them. Practical part applies the defined methodical processes to a project-oriented company VPÚ DECO PRAHA a. s. To this company, I drafted a mission and vision, created a SWOT analysis that served as a basis for Cross-Impact analysis and subsequently produced a Balanced Scorecard model, tailored to its needs. I also calculated the company's target costing.

Financial analysis and financial plan of VPÚ DECO PRAHA a. s.

The aim of this work is a financial analysis of VPÚ DECO PRAHA a. s. for the years 2006-2011 and an outline of a short-term financial plan for the year 2012. The work is divided into two parts: methodological and practical. While the former describes the methodology of financial analysis, the latter applies it on the analysed company. Additionally, an intercompany comparison is made with the conclusion that VPÚ DECO PRAHA a. s. shows high values of trade deficit compared to the other subsidiaries of SUDOP GROUP a. s. operating in the same industry as VPÚ DECO PRAHA a. s. Despite that it demonstrates low debt ratio throughout the whole period in question, proving relatively good payment habits. Building on the conclusion of the strategic analysis and a passive scenario -- which does not presume company's positive reaction to the development of the building industry -- a financial plan was assembled for the year 2012, which expects a negative economic result.
