Public Awareness: Life of People with Hearing Disabilities

This dissertation is focused on general public awareness regarding deaf and hard of hearing people. The work is structured into theoretical and practical part and is divided into a five main chapters. The first part contains a development of historical view on deaf and hard of hearing people as well society's present approach to them. After that follows a brief overview of the possibilities of obtaining information about the difficulties of people suffering with hearing loss. The second part describes the program "Getting to Know a Deaf Person's Life ", which effectiveness is verified by research based on interviews and questionnaires. The main purpose of this dissertation is in its usage as an information material about people with hearing loss and presentation of one of its public awareness schemes.
