Labial adhesions in childhood - parents' awareness of the problem and prevention
Prouzová, Michaela ; Skřenková, Jana (advisor) ; Neumannová, Helena (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with labial adhesions in childhood, parents' awareness of this issue and parents' awareness of prevention options. Synechia vulvae is formed by the joining of the opposite edges of the mucous membrane of the vaginal entrance or labia minora, exclusively on the genital area, which is not under the influence of female sex hormones - estrogens. The terms labial adhesions or labial conglutinations are also used to describe it, especially in English. This is a relatively common disease, the treatment of which can be however a source of considerable stress for both the child and the parents. The disease is preventable, and therefore it is advisable to deal with it in more detail, while the education related to this problem also falls within the competence of the midwife. As part of my work, I find out how parents are informed about the issue of labial adhesions, where they got the information from, and whether this information was comprehensible and sufficient for them. At the same time, I study whether the child's parents are aware of preventive measures thanks to which the occurrence of labial adhesions might be avoided and whether the parents follow these preventive measures. keywords: labial adhesions, labial conglutinations, parents' awareness, prevention options
