The first one is focused on the general characteristics of Competitive Intelligence (hereinafter CI). In the next sections, we first focus on the definition of the term Business Intelligence (hereinafter BI), which is often associated with CI. BI analysis is not the basis of this work, so this section is written briefly. Its most valuable part is the last one, where the relationship between BI and CI is broken down. In the following section, three recent trends in CI are described. In the last section we can find the characteristics of a medium-sized enterprise, as well as its business environment in which it operates and its requirements or restrictions on CI.
