Vaclav Rejchl (1884-1964) Ladislav Zikmund Keywords: architecture - 20th century - Hradec Kralove - Vaclav Rejchl - care of historical monuments Resumé: The thesis will deal in monographic form with life and work of architect Vaclav Rejchl. Vaclav Rejchl is for his whole life connected with Hradec Kralove. He stood at the beginning of its modern development and Rejchl is an author of regulation plan from 1909, which was basic for his followers, Oldřich Liska or Josef Gočár and valid till nowadays. In my thesis I will focus on selected Rejchl's realizations in context of his life. I would like to deal with already mentioned regulation plan, house of Jan Hus convent, Students home, Regional court, Main railway station, area of Airport in Vekose and one chapter I would like to devote to his family houses. In final part I will deal with Vaclav Rejchl's activity in monument conservation work in times, when in political circumstances he was not allowed to interfere architecture actively.
