ACTING TECHNIQUES AND ATTITUDES IN AN ACADEMIC

In this diploma work the author works out acting techniques and methods of actor training, that he faced both, during his studies and on a professional stage. He describes in detail exercises and procedures, compares them and tries to draw some general principles of actor?s work and actor?s development. In a first part author describes methods based on common theoretical methodology created by Michail Čechov. At the same time the author deals with possibilities of actor?s own dramatic production in context of various theatre styles and points of view: realistic ? illusory, alienated (staging Holy Land) and stylized (staging Oidipus). An essential theme of this work is the way of teacher?s or director?s attitude to the actors and their influence on their independent individual creativity.
